On May 11, ECF member Latvijas Riteņbraucēju apvienība (Latvian Cyclists’ Union) organised the traditional Riga Cycling Conference, bringing together bicycle planners and cycling enthusiasts. Last week ECF participated in the TEN-T Days (25-27/04/2018) in the beautiful city of Ljubljana that recently joined our "Cities and Regions for cycling" network. The TEN-T Days are the annual event of the Trans-European Transport Networks Programme organised by the European Commission. Over 2000 registered participants and 26 Ministers of Transport joined the event.

Today the revised Energy Performance of Buildings Directive took the last legislative hurdle by being adopted in Council [1]. Among other, it promotes electro-mobility by setting up a framework for parking spaces for electric vehicles. It also includes provisions on bicycle parking, although these are of a non-binding nature.

A host of cities and other organisations including ECF has signed a letter calling for the European Commission to regulate the elimination of direct vision blind spots in lorry cabs, as part of its upcoming proposal to improve safety type approval regulations.
