My friends and I are having a blast getting into road and gravel biking and are looking for a big trip to plan. I'm looking for recommendations for a 7 to 10 day trip somewhere in Western Europe with a few desired traits: * Minimize time in big cities * Dirt roads and gravel routes if at all possible but not critical * 60-100km days * Enough b&bs and hotels that we don't need to bring camping gear * Scenic * Mix of hilly and flat terrain I just don't know the bike nuances of traveling in europe, so I'm really just curious about regions where this kind of thing is the best. Thanks!

Hi guys! If there's anyone here who have been to Italy or who is an italian and could help me out. Me and 3 friends are thinking about going from Rome to Napoli and south of Salerno by bike. We are planning a low-budget trip, without fancy hotels and stuff. Our plan is to find camping sites and sleep there, and continue the journey the next day. If you can answer any of these questions, it's going to be really helpful for us: 1) Is it possible to camp on italian beaches without problem? (by problem, I mean police and fee problems) 2) there are a lot of camping sites in that region? (payable ones, just to put the tent and sleep) 3) any tips for this trajetory we are about to make, if you have done it already? 4) any rental shops of bikes that could be cheaper for us to rent a bike? 5) any place would you recommend for us for a night in? 6) anyone here has travelled any eurovelo bike lane? is it good? Any comment is really appreciated and will be really helpful. Thanks and good rides!

Does anyone have any information on the availability of this particular model? I am sure like many others i have been waiting for shops to get new stock of this bike. But it seems that is not going to happen any time soon, if ever. Whatever the situation, please if you know anything about it, share it with me. I would like to know.

I love a Gatorade when I'm riding, I drink one bottle of water, then a bottle of Gatorade as the miles pile up. All the electrolyte tablets that you mix with water that I have found are using sugar substitutes...I want the sugar? I'm going to be traveling where water is easy to get, but I don't want to depend on finding a store with drinks, what are your favorite mixes?

The title was something like "La (forza?) de la rue", where "forza" is a similar sounding word which translates to something like "force, endurance, pain, suffering". The complete title should translate to something like "The force of the street". Maybe somebody can help me. A french guy at a party told me about it but I can't remember the name and am unable to find it via Google.

So I'm planning my first ever cycling trip (in EU) and the main thing I'm uncertain about is the sleeping overnight. I want to keep my costs to a minimum, so my budget for any sort of accommodation is around 20-25 euros max. I'm also going to be riding with a backpack full of camera gear, so safety is quite important. It'd be great to hear your guys' experiences and "reviews" of some of these options: 1. Hostels (how safe is it for the bike and personal belongings) 2. Tent on a campsite (All the campsites I see on google maps have loads of camper vans and not many tents, weird) 3. Wild camping (Is it safe? Best practises? Best countries for it except for Scandinavian countries) I can already imagine how paranoid I'll be the first time I sleep alone in a tent, so if anything I'm looking for words of encouragement and reassurance :)))

Hi there - I did my first long 5 day bike ride a few weeks ago now (Seoul to Busan, it's fantastic if you ever get the chance). However, I noticed that my right hands went a bit numb afterwards, so I decided to rest up and hold off cycling for a while. A few weeks later I noticed that I have these little red speckles on my lower hand, roughly corresponding to where I put my hands on the hoods. I'm guessing this came from me damaging something, and I should avoid it.... but I can't find anything on Google. I've added a photo to hopefully help show what it is. Has anyone else had anything similar after a longish stretch of riding, and does anyone know if its a sign of me doing something wrong... and how to avoid getting numb fingers again, I wore padded gloves. https://imgur.com/a/juT1kHX

I was wondering, would Bergamont Grandurance - 3 be a good alternative for Marin four corners?

I'm planning to attend one of the Giro stages and would love any insight folks have on what it's like. Are there always loads of crowds at the start and finish? Where is the best place to position yourself to watch? Do the teams sell kits and other apparel? Anything I should watch out for?

Is this bike good for riding all day and across colorado mountains with gear like a tent sleeping bag and a bag. The guys says "Original right down to the “High Pressure Road Racer” factory tires !!" He's asking 100$ that worth it? Baby blue in color with a rack on the back

I'm from the United States but am temporarily living in the United Kingdom on a 2-yr assignment contract, with intent to return to the United States afterwards. I am interested in buying a gravel bicycle for bike touring while here, but am curious if there is anything I should be wary of / brands I should avoid given that I will be moving back? For example, if Ribble uses specialty parts that would be very difficult to get serviced at a shop in the United States. I would like to avoid a situation where a choice I make now has unforeseen consequences in a couple years. I am also early in the assignment contract, so preference not to just wait until it ends. My cycling background if relevant: primarily casual road cycling with friends for exercise, used an old aluminum road bike that I left with family in the US. Did not bring a bike with me to the UK, so seeking something I can use for touring to explore while I'm here but also ok to use on roads for exercise. Some experience touring on rented bicycles as proof of concept that I greatly enjoy it. Little to no bike mechanic knowledge (seeking to remedy in parallel). General advice on buying a touring-capable bicycle in London also welcome! Thank you in advance.

TL;DR Fiancé cycles in shitty footwear, toes nerve damage, how to heal? Shoe recommendations? Hey guys, Some context (may be useless) My fiancé and I are planning for a 3000-5000mi tour next year down the US pacific coast and across the US to Virginia. We currently live in Washington (the Gorge) and we try to ride semi/fully loaded at least once a week for decent of elevation (2000-4000ft) or decent of distance (40mi+). She has a touring bike (GT Peace Tour 2015) and I have a gravel bike (Marin Nicasio 2019) with 700c x 35mm. She wears thrift store boots or altar running shoes when she cycles. We both have flat pedals, though hers are smaller than mine. We’ve had professional bike fits and we have an unlimited amount of fit adjustments for the next year. The problem: My fiancé has developed some foot pain. Mainly the toes on her right foot. She thought she broke her toes but kept riding until she couldn’t. Now we have learned that it’s likely nerve damage (no break or fracture). We’ve been taking some time off from the cycling but her toe hasn’t healed yet and frequently goes numb when she walks. Has anyone had experience with foot /toe problems and how did you remedy it once it got serious? This tour is really important to us as she is going blind and part of our goal is to raise money for people with a similar eye condition to adventure in the ways we do. We know that this may not go away but we want to maximize our changes of being ready to tour in spring.

For the last few years, I had a Fuji Jari 2.1, which did everything for me. I commuted, went on weekend rides, and just got back from a two-month tour with it. The many mounting points were essential for my purposes, but I also liked the relatively light weight so that I could keep up with my pals on the road. The only problem...it got stolen right at the end of my tour. While on tour, I contemplated upgrading a few times, and now I have an opportunity to try that out. Ideally, the bike would be under $2,000, but I would definitely spend more if I thought it was worth it. And, like the title says, I want a bike that can do it all, from touring with panniers to gravel trails to road riding. I know that the bike I get will not be optimal for anything I use it for, but the ability to do it all in one bike is more important to me. If you were in my position, which gravel bike would you get?

I have been riding on a 20 year old aluminum cannondale touring bike (that I bought as new) that I have done both long tours on and plenty of commuting over the years. But in the last year or so I’ve been cycling more for fitness. This means rides that are 15-50 miles a few days a week that I do solo (averaging maybe 15 mph). The terrain is 95% or more paved (the rest are packed gravel) and a mix of flats and hills. In addition to this my wife and I go on family rides where we take our baby in either a baby trailer or baby seat that mounts on the rack of my bike (removed for solo rides don’t worry). I am realizing that I could benefit from upgrading a few things depending on what riding I am going out to do. When on a family ride I really wish I had more stopping power, I also could use this on my fitness rides. The rim brakes on my bike with my weight plus our baby and especially the trailer just don’t feel powerful enough. Even hitting the brakes hard I feel like it takes far too long to stop. To get disc brakes I need a new bike. Additionally for my solo rides I would like to get a bike with a more performance geometry (something like a Synapse or SuperSix in carbon) and upgrading to have di2 is something I think I would enjoy and wouldn’t break the bank for me. So here is my dilemma. Any bike that can fit a baby seat isn’t going to allow me to get a carbon frame or honestly even terribly high end components as the metal frames tend to have more of the Sora or Tiagra groupsets. While the trailer is nice sometimes the speed and ease of the baby seat setup is preferable for most rides with the baby. Is there a solution I am overlooking here or do I need to have two separate bikes for these two use cases? My current thoughts are that I should go find a performance road bike to go use for my fitness rides and then go buy a workhorse all metal bike like a Kona touring bike for rides out with the family. A side benefit of this being that while towing a trailer I probably want a more forgiving gear ratio. Is there a good solution here where I can have all of these in one bike?

I am looking to buy a bike computer, After looking around in the community, and also in th market for availability, I have narrowed down to two options under my budget Garmin Edge 520 Plus - for Rs.15500 INR and Lezyne Super Pro GPS - for Rs.13950 INR I've listed out some points that I have seen online, Please let me know the points that contain IDK as i would very much like to know ||Garmin Edge 520 Plus|Lezyne Super Pro GPS| |:-|:-|:-| |Price (INR)|temporary pricing: Rs.15500 (Rs.18000 non discounted)|Rs.13999| |Sensor Support|BLE and ANT+ including power meter|BLE and ANT+ including power mater| |Claimed Battery Life|15Hrs|28Hrs| |Screen|2.3" Color|\~2" Monochrome| |Visibility under direct sunlight|IDK|IDK| |Data Analytics|Some features mentioned on the garmin website, like VO2 max estimate, training load, recovery time, etc|IDK, some FE-C thing is mentioned, but i dont exactly know what it is. | |Training features|Has some option to have custom interval training configuration on the connect website (Please confirm, i dont exactly know), climb profle and climb assist of some sort|IDK, if anyone knows, please let me know. So I would require good battery life. Although I wont see myself doing rides over 14 Hours, I dont know about the real life battery life. 4) I am buying this specifically for training, but I would love to use it while touring too (although not a hard and fast requirement) If there is any other good bike computer in this budget range that i might have missed out (Wahoo is too expensive where i live (\~Rs.28000-30000)), please let me know. Thanks in Advance!
