Dear Salsa Riders, In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada, we are announcing a voluntary safety recall on Salsa Cowchipper Carbon and Cowbell Carbon handlebars. We also used these handlebars as original equipment on select Salsa Cutthroat, Warbird, and Warroad complete bicycles. We are conducting a voluntary recall because the handlebars can crack where the brake/shift levers are installed and cause a crash, posing an injury to the rider. Rider safety is our greatest concern. If you think you may have an affected Salsa Cowchipper Carbon or Cowbell Carbon handlebar or Salsa Cutthroat, Warbird, or Warroad bicycle, stop using it immediately. For detailed information on the recall, including how to proceed if your handlebars and/or Salsa bicycle are affected, visit our recall page. I’m a girl with a bike rather than a ‘cyclist’. I’m reasonable fitness but every time I cycle even a slight incline it feels like a mountain, my legs hurt and I get out of breath. Even in a low gear. Is it possible there’s something wrong with the bike? I’m not super fit but not unfit either. Think my saddle height is ok, slight leg bend when I hit the bottom when pedalling. The bike is 2 years old and tyres kept inflated properly. It’s making cycling so unpleasant and I’m at a loss.

Ich bin vor ein paar Tagen mit meinem Decathlon Rennrad gestürzt und mir dabei das Lenkerband zerrissen. Am nächsten Tag im Hellen dann noch Mal alles durchgecheckt und nen Kratzer unterm Lenkerband entdeckt, sonst schien alles soweit okay. Da ich jetzt eh erstmal nicht fahren kann dachte ich, dass ich Inspektion, tubeless Umbau und eben das Lenkerband dann auf einen Schlag machen lasse. Heute kam dann ein Anruf, dass sie wegen des Sturzes komplett die Carbongabel, den Lenker und den Vorbau wechseln müssen. Allein das würde vorraussichtlich 350 Euro kosten, was meinen Preisrahmen ziemlich sprengt. Auf Rückfrage warum sie nicht einfach das Lenkerband und den tubeless Umbau machen können, hieß es sie dürften das Rad nur annehmen, wenn sie es danach 100 Prozent verkehrssicher heraus geben, da sie eine Gewährleistungspflicht hätten. Stimmt das? Ich hätte gedacht, dass es am Ende mein eigenes Risiko ist, ob ich damit weiterfahre. PS: Das ist mein erster Reddit Post, also verzeiht mir bitte Formatierungsfehler.
