I’m from the UK and if you are too you’ll know there is a petrol crisis, so I started cycling. I have only been doing so for 5 weeks and I’ve received 4 incidents of verbal abuse/harassment from both men and women for literally no reason. It’s not because I’m cycling particularly dangerously or doing anything so shouldn’t, I assume they just aren’t paying enough attention to the road/get spooked by me cycling and take that out on me in a fit of rage instead of introspecting into their own driving. From a legal standpoint, is there anything so can do? It will capture their license so I could take it to the police. I’m being intimidated and bullied by drivers left right and centre, including death threats, swearing, name calling, and male harassment/borderline stalking, too. What is it that makes motorists so inconsolably enraged about cyclists?

I currently have Shimano 105 R7000 but am considering the upgrade to the new Ultegra DI2 R8100. I ride a few times per week, but am certainly no racer. Should I stick with 105 or take the plunge to electronic shifting? Edit: When I bought my bike, I did so on a tight budget. Circumstances have since changed and I have been lucky enough to be able to buy myself a nice new helmet, saddle, GPS computer, power meter and 50mm carbon wheels and some decent front and rear lights. I am just exploring the DI2 avenue as another nice to have. But at current prices, it’s not as simple as that
