Previously posted my audio experiment recording ASMR bike rides from around the world so just wanted to share with you guys some audio that I recorded from inside the controversial first stage of La Vuelta 2023 that be found at at [http://ridewithme.fm](http://ridewithme.fm) Picture this: immersing yourself at the finish line of the first Team Trial stage of La Vuelta 2023. On the last curve before the final sprint! Managed to get a high quality binaural recorder 2 centimeters away from where the riders were passing (safely tucked under the metal barrier to not cause any accidents ) to see if I could capture the sensory experience of being there. You hear the storm, the cheers, all the huge convoy of police motorcycles, team support cars, the helicopter hovering above and if you pay attention even the tires of the riders splitting the water that accumulated on the ground. Curious to know if people liked it, on my part it was a fun way to change up a little bit how to attend a grand tour.

Just genuinely curious. Is it like kicking a puppy across the room, or maybe the time you slapped your elderly grandmother when nobody was looking? Does it give you the same level of thrill as the time you dropped a deuce in the changing room at T.J. Maxx, or is it more nuanced, like that tingle you felt the first time you saw your first cousin in a bathing suit? Does it make you proud to be an American to the very core of your soul, like the freedom that comes from being able to toss a McDonald’s bag out the window at any given place or time? Or does that instant gratification fade into a darker place, where you start pondering existential questions about whether you should have gone for another six inches on those truck springs, because, honestly, what’s the big deal with six inches anyway — itself a question that must unpack an entire box of issues best left alone. When you see a stranger on the side of the road, walking, cycling, riding in a less testosterone-fueled vehicle, whatever, and you call forth the diesel cloud of pure fury, is it as beautiful a moment as the time you dropped a piece of half-chewed gum in the collection plate at church, or is it a more sentimental moment of reflection, that gnawing sense of knowing that the end of one six pack is just going to lead to the next? Honestly, inquiring minds want to know.

This happened to me today.... Was going at a semi fast pace on a separated paved bike path I slowed down a bit to pass another cyclist and then sped up again after I cleared them. When I passed them they yelled "EBIKES AREN'T ALLOWED HERE" But as the title says, I wasn't ridding an ebike...I was ridding a rental road bike(Specifically a Pinarello Prince.) Anyways I laughed it off and continued on my way, Just a weird little interaction. (Note, I do know ebikes get a lot of hate but to the person's defense, Asking local law enforcement and other entities apparently on that path ebikes of ANY class are not allowed on so shrug)

Well, it finally happened. I was hit by a car. Luckily it was a minor collision and I seem to be ok. My bike on the other hand is in need of repairs and I'm unsure of the next steps. I was riding in a two-way painted bike lane. The driver was exiting a parking lot on my left and making aright turn across the bike lane. I don't know whether she saw me, but I saw her, hit my brakes and tried to swerve out of her way. I almost made it, but her car clipped my back wheel. The wheel is clearly damaged and a spoke is broken. Otherwise the bike *seemed* to operate ok, but I'm a little concerned about the rear motor. The worst part: the bike is less than two weeks old and my first upgrade in over a decade :( To the driver's credit, she stopped and apologized. I have photos of her license plate, her driver's license, and her insurance card. Is my next call to her insurance company? I appreciate any advice from those of you who have been through this before. Thanks.

I don't like having to stop to eat or go to a bathroom while riding (also worried about someone taking my bike during a solo ride even with a lock on). Some people emphasize on the importance on fueling up, but I haven't had any issues with having no water or snacks so far. Can I keep it this way? Edit: I asked this question because I was curious to know if this would affect my overall performance. As a newbie, I'm still learning what I can do better to become a better cyclist, and I'll definitely bring my water and snacks on future rides. Thanks everyone!

Hello hello hello, also, ich hab folgendes vor: Ich möchte dem Verkehrsdezernat ne Jahrszahl vorlegen. In welchem Jahr würden alle Straßen dieser Stadt, wo aktuell Tempo 40 oder mehr herrscht, mit qualitativ hochwertigen Radwegen ausgestattet sein, wenn das Tempo im Ausbau von diesem Jahr beibehalten wird. Das ist herausgegebenes Ziel der Stadtregierung, es kommuniziert aber niemand bis wann das fertig sein soll. Ich würde sie gerne vor eine realistische Zahl sehr weit in der Zukunft stellen. Bisher weiß leider niemand wie viel eig gemacht werden muss, weil wohl niemand für irgendwas eine gute Datenbasis hält. Ich würde das gerne liefern. Die openstreet map ist hier ziemlich gut eingetragen wo welche Radwege sind, das würde ich gerne nutzen. Ich hab aber keine Ahnung wie ich damit umgehen kann. Ich würde gerne: 1. Alle Straßen mit Länge in meiner Stadt herausgeben, wo man Tempo 40+ fahren darf, ohne Autobahnen natürlich, aber in beide Richtungen 2. Ich möchte mir dann die Länge aller Radverkehrsanlagen ab einem bestimmten Standard ausgeben lassen. Die Standards sind in osm ja vorhanden, muss nur noch schauen wo ich den cutpff point mache, wahrscheinlich alles außer Schutzstreifen um wohlwollend zu sein, vllt aber auch einmal ohne Radwege unter 2m Breite und Dooring Zone oder sowas. 3. Länge von den dieses Jahr fertig gestellten Radwegen, das ist einfach das war nicht so viel, das kann ich von Hand Start und Stop einzeichnen. Dann nehme ich was zwischen 1. und 2. noch fehlt, extrapoliere 3. auf Jahre hoch und hab ne Zahl. Das wird dann, ka das Jahr 2165 sein. Könnt ihr mir bei der OSM query helfen? Und habt ihr sonst noch Gedanken und Tipps? Ich weiß leider nicht genau wie ich da vorgehen soll, noch nie mit OSM gearbeitet, außer mal ne Radbügel eingetragen. Vielen Dank euch!
