It started with a fight
20. Oktober, 18:34 Uhr

This weekend, I was riding with my dad, just a normal Saturday morning ride. As we were descending from the climb, his back tire blew out. We were going close to 50 MPH. I saw him go over his handlebars and land almost directly on his head and then slide 100 feet down the road. He was completely unconscious when I called the ambulance. When we got to the hospital they rushed him into a CAT scan while I waited to get the results. Two broken ribs, two broken vertebrae, a concussion, but he's gonna be fine. The doctor, after the fact, said he was lucky to even be able to sit up and hold a conversation. He also said that it was obvious that his helmet saved his life. If it wasn't for my dad's 3 year old Giro Aeon, I wouldn't have my dad today. This is his helmet as it stands today: http://imgur.com/eeWCbSP It's cracked completely through. I wanted to type up this little story just to emphasize the importance of helmets. I feel incredibly lucky that my dad was smart and safe enough to wear a helmet, and that helmets are manufactured to such tight constraints, so that in a case like this, it can save a life. Thanks for reading, and wear your helmets! TL;DR: Dad crashed, two broken ribs, two broken vertebrae, concussion, and is alive today because of his Giro helmet!

Parkis – a unique mechanical bicycle lift for parking bicycles in small spaces. Es...

Its now one year you guys are “saving” our lives… Or at least you are saying that because of you there are less accidents and such… We don’t really believe that… But you need a reason to continue, I guess… Yo! Cars kill, not bikes!!! And most fixed gear riders here, ride with brakes, we personally think thats even more dangerous… But, lets not get too much into it… Kenn ich nicht, geht nicht!...
