I had planned to ride 20 Miles, but ended up going way, way further than planned. I went for a total of 60 miles and have never gone that far before. 30 Miles out I realized I was wayyy further out that I should have been, and getting back was going to be a struggle. Extremely, extremely poor planning on my part. At the 40 mile mark I felt true bonkage for the first time. It was absolutely horrendous. My body was screaming for calories . I was out of all water, and there were no stores anywhere near. Nobody around. I alternated walking (stumbling) with my bike for a few miles and riding it at a snails pace off and on. When I finally got close to home, I made it into a convenience store and got the very first things I could grab - gatorade and a candy bar. I felt like I was going to puke . Anyway ....lesson learned. Just because I'm "feeling it" or "in the zone" I need to think more thoroughly. **EDIT:** Wow this blew up thank you all for sharing your own experiences and advice ! Here's another part I left out. When I finally got to the convenience store and grabbed some calories, it was in a rough part of town. After eating I sat outside with my bike leaning against me and my hands in my lap. Some sketchy/homeless dude was asking me questions about how much the bike costs and some other stuff but I couldn't even process it. I didn't even have the strength to hold onto my bike, my hands were just resting in my lap waiting for my body to absorb the calories. If he had been dangerous or tried to steal my bike, I would've been powerless to stop him. It was horrendous to have the feeling of "I'm too exhausted to be scared right now"

Yesterday I was the bad cyclist.

While doing my first 100km ride yesterday I was cycling along a shared cycle/pedestrian path. I got stuck behind a group of 6 cyclists riding 2 abreast in the middle of the path at about 12kph (8mph). They were wavering about a bit and when the rear two moved apart I got between them. One of them started to shout at me telling me to use my bell (which I took off when I was changing my bars and haven't been able to find). This alerted the rest of the group and I was able to squeeze through. It occurred to me afterwards that if I'd clipped bars with any of them it could have brought us all down. I'm 43 and they were probably in their 60's so at the least it could have spoil every ones days at the worst really hurt people. I always feel a bit of a twat shouting '"Excuse me" or "Can I pass" and often get evil looks from people when I have. Maybe they should have been aware of other uses of the path and looked back every so often but I think they were all chatting away as it was a social ride. Anyhow I'm not trying to make excuses just acknowledging the fact that I acted badly and endangered us all.

Wurde heute auf dem Rennrad mit Wischwasser von einem überholenden Jeep vollgespritzt. Hat schon fies gebrannt in den Augen, nach einer Spülung ging es wieder. Kann man so ein Verhalten anzeigen? Lohnt sich das? Zeugen habe ich keine. Nummernschild ist bekannt. Edit: Kleines Update. Anzeige ist raus. Habe jetzt "gefährlichen Eingriffs in den Straßenverkehr" als Verstoß in das Spiel gebracht. Stellung eines Strafantrags behalte ich mir vor. Es kann ja sein, dass sich der Fahrer entschuldigt, dann bin ich auch zufrieden. Kuss an alle die mich motiviert haben. Auf mir wird nicht herumgetrampelt.

I looped a local lake three times for a combined ~15 miles and, apart from a soreness in my taint like I've never experienced (bibs on the way, suckers), I am a new person. Just recently started using clipless pedals. Had gone on a couple rides and was doing so good, didn’t fall! Then was on a ride Saturday, had just mentioned to my friend how good I was doing, stopped at a stoplight, was standing off my bike with one foot and somehow wobbled to the side I was clipped in and slow motion fell 😂 Feels good to get the first fall out of the way! Got congratulated by some other cyclists later as well. Love the cycling community!! No matter how good you are, you’ve definitely fallen over 😅

"Damenräder" gehabt, bis ich ca. 16 war. Seitdem fahre ich ganz normale Diamantrahmen, aber das Auf- und Absteigen während der Fahrt habe ich halt nie gelernt. Hallo liebe Rahmennummernexperten, ich bin gerade dabei mein Fahrrad zu versichern und einen Fahrradpass zu erstellen und dafür muss man die Rahmennummer angeben. Ich meine auch, dass ich die bei meinem Fahrrad gefunden habe, allerdings ist die ganz seltsam mehrzeilig eingestanzt bzw stehen da zwei Nummern sich gegenüber (10 Stellen und 6 Stellen) und jetzt weiß ich nicht welche der beiden oder in welcher Reihenfolge das die richtige Nummer ist. Hat jemand von euch da zufällig eine Ahnung von? (Mein Fahrrad ist ein Centurion Hyperdrive 4200)
