Just wanted to thank the mods and this community for inspiring us mortals to ride harder, further, and faster. As an overweight and out of shape middle aged man I have found inspiration in this community and am thankful for everyone who has contributed. In the four months I’ve been cycling I have dropped 13 pounds, fit into smaller clothes, and have developed a plan to complete an Ironman for my 50th birthday in two years. We may come from different backgrounds and different locations, but one thing is certain, our enjoyment of riding and suffering bonds is together. I have rediscovered my inner child who used to spend all day out on the roads on my bmx bike and I’m thankful for it. Ride on!

Dynamo-Licht an Batterie betreiben?

Halllo Zusammen, ich rüste mein i:sy Lite mit einem Swytch Kit um. D.h. das ich leider meinen Nabendynamo vorne nicht mehr nutzen kann, da ja hier der Motor des Swytch Kits ist. Gibt es eine Möglichkeit mein Verbautes "Dynmo Licht" mit einem wasserdichten, fahrrad-geeignetem Batterie-Pack zu betreiben und kennt jemand so ein Produkt? Ich weiß schon, Dynamo liefert Wechselstrom, Batterie Gleichstrom... aber ich dachte ich frag einfach mal ganz doof. Ansonsten würd ich wahrscheinlich einfach vorne einen guten, alten (neu gekauften) Dynamo, der am Rad läuft, verbauen.... müssen. Oder hat jemand vielleicht noch eine kreative Idee? :) Danke schon mal!

Frage: 90´ Trekkingrad, 68mm BSA, Kettenlinie jetzt mit triple Rennkurbel und 4Kant 110,5mm JIS / JIS auf 45mm. Wenn ich eine MTB/Trekking triple "2piece" Hohlwellenkurbel nehme und mit "Road" Lagerschalen paare, müsste (vorausgesetzt 2,5mm - 5mm Spacer werden auf der linken Seite installiert) die Kettenlinie doch erhalten bleiben und die linke Kurbel auf die Welle passen? Oder lieber MTB/Trekking Lagerschalen nehmen (wegen der internen Abdeckung) aber mit der Gefahr, dass die rechte Lagerschale nicht passt (Gewindetiefe)? edith: alles Shimano Danke schonmal im voraus.

Does spinning help?

I did look for a post regarding this, but couldn't find anything. So I'm normally a rider with a road bike for outside. Amazing bike, and I love being outdoor. However, as it's getting cold here, I turned to spinning. So I was wondering, will spinning (a spinning class, by the way. I don't have a stationary bike myself) actually help me with cycling? As in, will I be able to start the spring in decent shape if I do spinning enough? Thank you in advance!

Do cycling videos relax you?

Ever since I got into cycling 3 years ago I've always found myself in a trance when I watch a cycling video and it's a handlebar or chesty mount with stabilisation on for smoothness. Even if the video is on a product as soon as that bike starts moving its kind of like I'm there....looking at the scenery and hearing the crunch of the gravel or swish of the road as the wheels glide over terrain. I probably 1-2x a week put a video like this on to fall to sleep to as it just really relaxes me and I enjoy seeing the surroundings of someone else's ride. So it got me thinking. I have a gopro hero 9 that I use for work. I got a handlebar mount delivered today and took it out on my ride, and sure enough it looked great, really smooth, Almost as if your actually just flying above the ground. I've never wanted to do the whole bike blogging thing as I think it takes away the enjoyment of it being just you out in the wild with a bike.....but I'm thinking maybe just set the gopro up on the bars for my once a week long rides with different destinations and just film them and upload them to YouTube. Obviously chopping and cutting bits here and there to not make it 4 hours of bike riding but a nice 20 mins of no talking just bike, gravel/road and natural sounds. I know I would watch this, but a. I weird? Or would anyone else watch this? I just wanna make it it so simple that I don't have to think about the camera being there and just enjoy the ride. And i do have 4 gopro battery's so will have enough battery life. Thanks
