I'll start by saying that I like my local bike shops. I trust them to do repairs at a fair price. With that said, I think the exclusive distributor model is outdated. Why do consumers have to buy certain brands from a certain bike shop? There are no valid reasons why a consumer can only buy a brand X bike from a bike shop instead of directly from brand X. Bikesdirect.com, Canyon and other brands have shown it is possible to assemble and ship a bike to consumers. I have bought new and used bikes online without issues. Now, the common argument against direct-to-consumer is bike shops need to be supported. I don't buy this argument. Bicycles bought online still need service and fitting. Hydraulic disc brakes, internal cabling, pressfit bottom brackets, tubeless wheels, etc. Many bicycle features on modern bikes are too complicated for the average consumer to fix. People will always need someone to repair and service their bikes. Now, bike shops may take a financial hit. But I highly doubt established brands would lower their online prices to match with bikesdirect and Canyon. If bikes are sold at the same price online and in store, then people will still buy from in stores. ( if you don't want to buy an overpriced X brand bicycle that is direct-to-consumer, then don't buy it) Direct-to-consumer benefits people who don't live near a bike shop that carries the bikes they want. It's time for the cycling industry to get off the exclusive distributor model and enter the modern world.

It's cold, zwift has become arduous and boring even. I've seen some recent gains lifting weights and now thinking to myself I don't want this cyclist body anymore. I'm looking through 2k USD home gym setups as my wife looks at my collection of bikes on the wall that haven't moved in weeks and silently steams like a tea kettle about to sound off... I haven't put in over a 30 mile ride in 2 months when 60-70 was a normal weekend ride. I suppose it's ok to accept that things change and maybe a casual 20-30 mile ride is what I need right now vs those half day long adventures. What do y'all normally do to get your rhythm back?

Hallo, blutiger Anfänger hier, habe gerade versucht an meiner Shimano 105 gemäß [dieser](https://www.bike-components.de/blog/2016/12/Umwerfer-einstellen/) Anleitung den vorderen Umwerfer einzustellen. Die Einstellung der L-Schraube hat soweit gut funktioniert und ich habe es geschafft, den geforderten Milimeter Abstand zum Leitblech hinzubekommen. Mein Geschraube an der H-Schraube bringt am oberen Teil des Umwerfers jedoch keinerlei Veränderung: Ich kann die Schraube maximal reindrehen, maximal rausdrehen, ganz egal: Die Kette liegt stets voll am Leitblech an. https://preview.redd.it/xanno4933ne81.jpg?width=2100&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=da3ac257e43964577ac8b220d490f6ba12c163b5 Da ich da durch Googeln nichts passendes finden konnte, hier also die Frage: Ich habe den Eindruck, dass ich an einer ganz anderen Ecke etwas verstellen muss.
