I recently bought a Cervelo Aspero. I like the bike, on dirt. On tarmac, the Aspero feels slow. Now, I think I can increase my speed by 1-2 mph by switching to 25 or 28 road slicks. But it's not just the tires. **Weight**: I got the Shimano GRX 810 2x build. This bike is heavier than road bikes at similar price range. A bike that is durable enough to handle minor spills on the dirt will be heavier than med-high range road bikes, which are intended to be replaced after a crash. **Geometry**: the Aspero feels very stable and balanced off-road. On road, the Aspero feels slugish. Apparently, the Aspero leans toward road bike than other gravel bike. But even then, the Aspero feels slow when compared to my road bike. Basically, one bike can't rule them all. If you want a durable and stable bike for the dirt, then you will have a heavy and sluggish bike for the road. If you want a light and fast bike for the road, then you will have a fragile and unstable bike for the dirt.

Ich suche nach vernünftigen Gepäckträgertaschen für mein Treckingrad. Sie sollten wasserdicht sein, schnell und einfach anzubringen und abzunehmen und pro Seite ca. 20l fassen. Am Pferd bin ich, bei Wanderritten, mit meinen Ortlieb-Satteltaschen sehr zufrieden. Im Bereich Fahrradtaschen bin ich dann mit der Auswahl, die es gibt, doch etwas überfordert. 🙈😅 Hat jemand eine Empfehlung für mich?

Hi zusammen, ich tu mich schwer, das zu Anfang :) Ich hatte vor kurzem ein S-Pedelec zum Testen hier (45km/h) mit dem ich einige Touren zur Arbeit (Weg einfach 30km) gependelt bin. Natürlich nur über Straßen (hust). Fand ich klasse, würde ich aber aufgrund der aktuellen gesetzlichen Nachteile bei S-Pedelecs nicht in Betracht ziehen. Deswegen überlege ich, mir ein "normales" E-Bike über Jobrad zu leasen. ​ Wie gesagt, Strecke einfach ca. 30km. Der Weg besteht hauptsächlich aus Asphalt (80%), Feldwegen und einigen Schotterwegen (20%). Je nach Strecke wäre auch Wald dabei. Um die Städte versuche ich drumrum zu kurven, das fand ich nicht so angenehm am Morgen. Persönlich fahre ich sonst ein Radon-Hardtail für meine abendlichen Runden Da 30km schon ein gutes Stück sind, ist entsprechende Ausstattung nicht verkehrt - XT-Schaltung (oder vergleichbares von SRAM) sollte es sein, ein großer Akku (z.B. 750er von Bosch) und Mittelmotor. Da ich gehört habe, der CX Gen 4 soll auch über 25km/h weniger Widerstand haben, ist das jetzt einfach mal ausstattungstechnisch der Motor der Wahl. Mit einem Motor der Gen 3 bin ich desöfteren gefahren und das ist eigentlich sehr angenehm, ausser im Turbo, da drückt er etwas unnatürlich, dafür aber schnell. Akku sollte rausnehmbar sein, da keine Steckdose in der Garage. Mein Problem ist die Bike-Kategorie. Folgende Gedanken (völlig subjektiv) habe ich mir gemacht: Wahl 1: Ein Trekking-Rad \+Federung vorne bis 100mm \+Komfort \+Lichtanlage und Gepäckträger \+Vermutlich günstiger als die anderen Radkategorien \+/- Reifen auf Asphalt ausgelegt, dafür Pannensicher, nicht so gut im Schotter (?) \-Federung hinten eher selten oder nur als Sattelstütze \-Ausrichtung vermutlich weniger sportlich, Radeln über 25km/h gut möglich? Wahl 2: Gravelbike \+Schneller und leichter \+Geometrie vom Hardtail bereits gewohnt \-Gibts selten mit Bosch-Motor -> keine Erfahrung mit Fazua und oft kein entnehmbarer Akku bei diesem System \-Wenn Fazua, dann eher niedriges Drehmoment, da kann ich auch normales Rad fahren \-Federung nicht vorhanden, wie gut Carbon-Gabeln dämpfen, weiß ich nicht. \-Bin bisher nur MTB gefahren, noch nie RR oder Gravel Wahl 3: SUV-Bike Ein fürchterlicher Begriff, wie ich finde \+Als Fully erhältlich, dadurch mehr Komfort \+Waldwege und Schotter mit Federwegen von 100mm+ kein Problem \+Pendlerausstattung wie beim Trekking \-Teurer \-Design gewöhnungsbedürftig \-Stollenreifen eher langsam auf Asphalt (mein HT hat Smart Sam-Reifen, da geht es halbwegs) \-Wartungsintensiver, da mehr bewegliche Teile \-Schwer ​ Sorry für die wall of text, aber man macht sowas ja nicht jeden Tag und das muss gründlich überlegt werden. Wäre super, wenn ihr eure Erfahrungen teilt, was das Pendeln mit E-Bike angeht und mit was für Rädern ihr unterwegs seid oder ob ihr Erfahrungen abseits von Bosch habt. Not sure if this goes here, but I'm just trying to reach out to the community. Thanks for any tips! I'm(29M) a new cyclist, and I'm pretty overweight. 5'8" and 220lbs, although I do have a good bit of muscle. I'm at my wits end. I really want to cycle seriously because it seems to hit all my expectations for a fun hobby. The issue is that after 30 min my ass/crotch area is in pain, and that pain doesn't feel like normal lactic acid buildup; it hurts. Whether I'm on the trainer at the gym, my personal bike outside, wearing padded bike shorts, etc., It ALWAYS starts hurting and I have to stop well before my legs are tired. Once I get off the pain subsides within 30 min and never comes back, so I'm certain that it's not muscle being worked. For other overweight cyclists, or formerly overweight, how long did it take you to not feel that pain anymore? Was it severe at first? How often did you ride per week? What advice do you have for someone like me? Also, I'm a grad student, so I don't have a large disposable income as some seem to assume. **EDIT: So it seems by most comments that the recommendation is to get a saddle/bike fit at a shop. I have a couple concerns though. 1-I already have a bike, can my issue be fixed? 2- my bike only costs $300, and it seems unreasonable to pay for a bike seat at a shop being that they start at $150. It seems like a dick move to ask for fitting/advice and then buy a new seat somewhere else.
