I live in one of the cycling capitals of the USA and am rarely anywhere near the top 10 on any Strava segment. Nearly all the KOM's I have seen in my area are held by professional cyclists, and I am just a 34 year old enthusiast who has never raced. I am competitive by nature and it can sometimes be deflating to ride to my maximum and see how far off the mark I am. Today I was able to achieve a KOM on a climbing segment by 17 seconds over the previous record holder. I know there aren't many people actually going after this particular KOM, and it's relatively meaningless, but it still is a great personal achievement to me and great motivation to keep pushing my fitness and endurance. Cheers to everyone chasing self improvement!

Hi Leute, heute aufm Heimweg kam nen Auto an mir vorbei, parkte auf dem Gehweg der links nen Radweg ist und die Beifahrertür ging auf. Ich mit ordentlich Speed gegen und rüber gesegelt. 5 ältere Damen stürmten aus dem SUV und redeten direkt auf mich ein. Zum Glück kamen direkt andere Radfahrer und beruhigten alles. Wegen Nackenschmerzen sitze ich nun beim D-Arzt, Rad halt verkratzt und läuft unruhig/ schleift. Nen Inearkopfhoehrer ist auch verloren gegangen. Polizei kam und hat den Fall aufgenommen. Der Polizist riet dazu mit Arztattest zur Polizei zu steppen um zivilrechtlich Schmerzensgeld geltend zu machen. Was sage ich jetzt der gegnerischen Versicherung? Kopfhörer weg, wird das ersetzt? Wie wird mit dem Rad umgegangen? Bin gerade noch nen bisschen überfordert... Danke und LG Wie ist das weitere Vorgehen?

First time crashing yesterday on my road bike

I recently got a road bike and got into long distance riding but yesterday I used my bike to just go to the store across town. Well I never quite made it there. My town is doing water main repairs so there’s long strips of road about two feet wide filled with gravel. This isn’t been an issue in the past to go over but I know it’s horrible on the bike and I silently apologize to it every time I go over. Yesterday evening I went over one of those strips and lost partial control of the bike, which then lead to the wobbles on a really uneven road. The road is cracked and broken to hell and the last one I want to be severely wobbling on. Well I ended up losing complete control of the bike and wiped out. Slid a few feet into a car. Thankfully it was parked. I ended up hitting my head, back, and road rash on various parts of my body. Went to the emergency room and ended up fracturing my tailbone and hip. The beautiful bruising and road rash across where the sun don’t shine. Hurts like hell but I still want to get back on the bike once this is all healed.

Hallo, Mein grade mal 5 Wochen altes [Radon R1 Disc 105](https://www.bike-discount.de/de/kaufen/radon-r1-disc-105-913934) wurde leider am Samstag im Hausflur geklaut. Habe gestern bei der Allianz den Antrag eingereicht und heute schon das Geld von der Schadensabteilung überwiesen bekommen. Dabei habe ich gestern darauf hingewiesen das es das gleiche Rad nicht mehr für den Preis gibt da das Rad ein Restposten war. Ebenfalls gibt es nicht mehr die Rahmengröße 58. Jetzt meinte die Versicherung sie bezahlt die Differenz des Rades mit der gleichen Ausstattung zwischen 250 - 350, vielleicht auch mehr. Welches Rad könnt ihr denn empfehlen? Es muss ebenfalls eine 105er Ausstattung besitzen. Hi. Ich blicke bei den Vorschriften für Beleuchtung an Rennrädern nicht ganz durch. Wenn ich es richtig verstanden haben sind Batterielichter zulässig und müssen tagsüber auch nicht mitgeführt werden. Wie sieht es mit den Reflektoren aus? Muss ich jeweils einen Rückstrahler vorne und hintern, sowie Katzenaugen am Rad haben, auch wenn ich nicht die Absicht habe damit bei Dunkelheit zu fahren?
