Hello, you all. I'm into cycling for 2 and a half years. I started with a entry level cross country bike, just to lose weight and improve fitness in urban area using some normal sport shorts. As I start to ride longer and further (up to 1 and a half hour), I bought a cycling short. It was good but I still feel butt pain. Then I bought my actual bike, my first road bike, and start to ride near 2 and a half hours, because of butt pain, but I felt that I can ride more - I have legs for it! After 6 months of road cycling, I decided to buy a bib's short and a good quality jersey. Man, that CHANGED MY RIDE. Today (10 months of road cycling) I can ride without butt pain for more than 3 hours! Near 100km! In conclusion, use cycling jerseys, if you are a road cyclist, it will be a good ideia to have slim fit one. Buy a couple of bib's short. Your ride will improve A LOT. Another point that cycling shorts are not confortable as bib's short is if you are like me, have a little pouch in the front, the short will compress or will be sliding down. I have to bring it up to my bellybutton line to feel more confortable. Please, let's share some links with cycling kits to the new guys in this /r and to me as well. Thanks!

After a year of owning my first carbon bike, I realize I'd be more comfortable riding an Aluminum bike. The constant stress of worrying about my carbon components does not allow me to take "risks" during my rides. I hate having to always worry about taking damage during rides. Note: I am not a racer nor athlete. I mainly do city-commuting and gravel cycling. I like the notion of a "beater" bike. Anybody have any good Aluminum (gravel) recommendations? EDIT# 1: You guys convinced me that carbon is worth keeping as a primary frame material. I've consumed too much propaganda online about Carbon having the brittleness to that of glass. Like many of you pointed out, cycling is about enjoying the ride, not cherishing whatever material we decide to ride with. By the end of the day, our flesh and bones cost more than anything S-works can pump out. Also, I will dearly consider a steel bike in the near-future :) Thanks you everyone!!
