So,first off thank you to everyone who was concerned about my health.I went to the doctor immediately. The doctor said while I didn’t pass out I was about to and falling stopped me from passing out I have been told to stay in bed for 3 days and have 3 litres of water each days and he has given me a fixed diet for the three days and told me to come back day to day after morning.He also took an ECG and my heart is fine but my blood sugar is pretty low. Once again thank you to everyone who was concerned abt my health.

I decided to test myself in 2 phases. 1 month without stretching and also 1 month with stretches after riding (sometimes before). The results were crazy! You got no idea how much better I feel after stretching after every ride. Your glutes, thighs, calves, back will thank you so much. The pain might be still there but it goes down for more than 70% for sure. It doesn't have to be 30minutes long, I do stretches 5-10min long, recommend watching this video [from Katie](https://youtu.be/fgplY23PWgI) and trust me, if you don't do at least these stretches, you will be giving your body so much more pain and muscle soreness. Just try it for a week or after at least 3-4 rides and if you feel worse than before, then i will apologize to you personally with a handwritten note

I'll start by saying that I really love big, annual, organized rides. I've done a dozen or so centuries and similars--and several shorter rides--and I've dug all of them. I'll also say that I'm a really social person who's scored [ENFP](https://www.verywellmind.com/enfp-an-overview-of-the-champion-personality-type-2795980) every single time I've taken a Myers-Briggs test. I LIKE PEOPLE. But dude--I do not want to sit in a paceline with you. I will ride alone alongside you and chat for a bit if we happen to be going the same speed. I will party all night once we get off our bikes in the same town. If you're a good friend and we're doing a bikepacking trip, then yeah--I'm all in. We can talk dinner plans and trade stories about crazy exes while we're riding toward camp. But I do not want to go for a club ride with you and 15 other people I don't know and rise and fall together as a group or whatever. But I kind of feel like an asshole when i decline a perfectly well-intentioned offer to hang with your posse. Maybe it's just the Seattle area, where everyone has a club and a sponsor and most people are unfriendly introverts unwilling or unable to engage with others, but as soon as people find out that I ride and seem to enjoy talking, I get pestered with "WE SHOULD RIDE TOGETHER--COME MEET MY CLUB!" I've usually gotten out of it by joking that I can't wake up that early, but the fact of the matter is that I just like being out on a bike alone enjoying the buzzing of hubs, the wind in my face, and the ability to sing whatever dumb-assed song gets stuck in my head for 6 hours at a time. Is it just me?

Guten Morgen zusammen, ich denke seit einigen Wochen darüber nach, mir mittelfristig ein neues Fahrrad zu kaufen, weil ich während der Pandemie gemerkt habe, wie viel Spaß mir das Fahrrad fahren macht und wie viel Freiheit und Flexibilität es mit bringt, aber auch, dass mein jetziges Fahrrad (ca 15 Jahre altes “Giant Tourer”) mich einschränkt (relativ schwer, mäßige Felgenbremsen, hakelige Schaltung). Ich fahre täglich mit dem Rad zur Arbeit (dafür würde das alte Giant auch langfristig weiterhin taugen), manchmal nach dem Feierabend durchs Umland und letzten Sommer und Herbst auch ein paar Male längere, ein- bis zweitägige Touren (50-120 km). Um es kurz zu machen: Mein Problem ist, dass ich absoluter Laie bin. Ich habe mich ein bisschen eingelesen und auf YouTube Videos geguckt, aber fühle mich immer noch total verloren. Das fängt an bei den verschiedenen Fahrradtypen, die sich teils so ähnlich scheinen, dass man sie kaum unterscheiden kann. Dann gibt es verschiedene Rahmenmaterialien von Stahl bis Carbon, unterschiedliche Schaltungen, Ketten- und Riemenantriebe, je nach Hersteller verschiedene Ausstattungslinien bzw. teils komplette Systeme (Rohloff? Pinion?), es gibt Fahrräder mit und ohne Federung, mechanische und hydraulische Bremsen, und so weiter. Für mich als Laien wirkt das alles wesentlich komplizierter als beispielsweise beim Auto... Ich bin echt überfordert und hätte am liebsten genau eine Quelle (oder vllt auch zwei, drei), die mir einen neutralen Überblick über all diese Aspekte gibt, damit ich mich einfach mal grundsätzlich mit all diesen Themen auseinandersetzen kann, ohne das Gefühl zu haben, dass mir irgendein Hersteller irgendwas verkaufen will. Kann mir jemand eine Webseite, einen YouTube-Kanal oder ein Buch empfehlen, für absolute Anfänger? Das würde mich echt glücklich machen. Vielleicht könnte man dazu auch mal einen Stickie in diesem Forum anbringen? Bitte seid gnädig, falls die Frage zu simpel ist, ich weiß nicht, wo ich sonst fragen soll..
