This will either be good or bad or maybe even some wont care, depending on whos reading it. But maybe it might strike a chord with you. I hate cycling and what its made me obsess over. I got into cycling 2 years ago, bought my first road bike 1 year ago. I got into it for fun, for the adventure, for the exploration, for the thrill of going out and enjoying myself. But as of late, all i keep thinking about are upgrades, newest kit, how fast im going, my body weight, my groupset, my wheelset, new road shoes or do i even need them, whats my HR, my VO2 max, my FTP, it has to be on strava, what will others say since i didnt go and do big elevation, my avg speed..... i obsess and im sure many others do, over the stats and power data and spending money and how there is always something to perfect or upgrade I just wish i could go back into the mindset of "just get on your fucking bike and enjoy IT". My girlfriend really pointed it out to me. I used to go on rides and send her scenic pictures and come back genuinely happy for what ive done and seen and ridden. But then i transitioned into "i beat my pr on this segment, with this % gradient and this....." What is helping me find the love for cycling again, is going out for rides in normal clothes or just bibshorts with a normal shirt, and for storage ill just take a toptube bag and a stem pouch bag. Id go literally in easy gears just ride around and go off to some random roads ive never gone on or just go to town and now get myself some icecream or just literally go out and enjoy everything that cycling enables you. And if i bring my garmin, i either put in on map so i dont see any stats or just hit record but store it in a bag, so i dont go checking it. Also bikepacking literally forces you to focus on other things and to enjoy the ride, thats what i also liked, when i did it. Like just....just get on your bike and just ride it. If you enjoy power and ftp and all of that, go for it, but ultimately, everyone joined cycling because they enjoyed the sport, not the gear.

Lately I’ve been really into the Castelli gear. Not because anyone else wears it. In fact I didn’t even know about it until I got this jacket called the Alpha Ros to cycle in the winter. I figured I get some more of the Castelli stuff. Anyway, I’ve notice their sizing is way too off. I recently got this Parfetto jacket, 2X and had to return it for a 3X and it’s still fits tight. I’m able to wear a jersey under it if I wanted, but like the side of my belly it sticking out and it’s embarrassing. I’m 5’8 235Lbs. My wife said I shouldn’t be getting anything bigger than 2X, because if I lose the weight then it will just look real baggy, and I’ll have to get new size gear that fits me. I’m really conscious of my body and how the fat sticks out but I know she’s definitely right. What would you guys recommend in terms of sizing? I normally wear L-XL in regular clothes, and I do like their gear, but damn 3X is huge. Lol

Ich habe mittlerweile 3, ein Klapprad, ein MTB (Stevens 5.1.2) und ein Trekking Fahrrad (Stevens 6.6.2). Wobei nur das Klapprad neu ist und die anderen beiden von Ebay. Eigentlich reicht für mich auch nur ein Rad, aber ich finde die Modele von Sevens Rädern mit der starren Stahlgabel sehr schön und finde das die Preisleistung in der Regel als second Hand sehr gut ist. Nun habe ich noch eins gesehen für einen günstigen Preis auch ein Trekking Bike von Stevens, der Unterschied zu den anderen ist, dass es eine XT Ausstattung hat mit einem Alu Rahmen. Versuche mich zu Bremsen um jetzt nicht das vierte Rad zu kaufen, war in dem Fall aber auch Neugierig ob es nur mir so geht oder ob es anderen auch so geht. Habt ihr manchmal auch ein schlechtes Gefühl dabei ein „neues“ Rad zu kaufen obwohl die Räder welche ihr besitzt ausreichen sollte?

Hi Zusammen! Bei uns geht es nächsten Samstag los, wir werden knapp 300 km in 4-5 (je nach Zustand, also vermutlich 5) Tagen mit dem Rad eine einfachere Alpenüberquerung fahren. Die ersten Routen haben noch ordentlich Höhenmeter dabei, gegen Ende wird es deutlich flacher. Ich habe die Fragen etwas hervorgehoben und mit Kontext versehen. Ich freue mich über jede Anmerkung und persönliche Empfehlung! Jetzt stelle ich meine Packliste zusammen und bin bei einigen Dingen nicht völlig sicher und würde mich deshalb sehr über eure Meinungen freuen! Mein Fahrrad ist ein [Cube Aim Race 2018, 29 Zoll](https://archiv.cube.eu/2018/101400). Ich plane eigentlich noch, den Sattel zu ersetzen, aber vermutlich wird es auch ein genaueres Einstellen des bisherigen tun - dafür bin ich morgen beim Fachhandel. * Sollte ich die Pedale noch austauschen? Ich habe gelesen, dass das einen großen Unterschied machen kann * Ich würde gerne noch die Handgriffe austauschen, die sind inzwischen ziemlich abgeranzt. Hat jemand eine Empfehlung? Irgendwie scheue ich mich vor den Billo-Dingern auf Amazon, die man für diesen Zweck kauft und dann für immer versauern lässt. Hat hier jemand einen Favoriten für 50-70 km Touren, 70-80kg und einen sehr empfinglichen Hintern? Bisher fahre ich mit den ["27,5+ bis 29+ Freeride"](https://www.schwalbe.com/SCHWALBE-SCHLAUCH-NR.-19F-FREERIDE-27.5-29-10400323) Schlauch von Schwalbe, der wurde mir damals im Cube-Store empfohlen. Hallo, Da es die letzten Tage zu nass im Wald war dachte ich mir ich versuche Mal meine erste 100km Tour zu fahren, dafür hab ich mir eine Strecke mit hauptsächlich Fahrradwegen, wobei ein großteil asphaltiert war rausgesucht. Ich habe ein FS MTB, die 100km hab ich auch geschafft nur war meine Durchschnitts Geschwindigkeit bei nur 18kmh und ich wurde öfter von gravel Fahrern überholt. Jetzt stell ich mir die frage wie groß der Einfluss des Fahrrads ist. Ich habe noch nie auf einem Gravel oder RR gesessen vielleicht kann jemand der schon beides gefahren ist mal schreiben ob sich ein Gravel wirklich viel leichter schnell fährt als ein MTB.
