Vor vier Tagen hat die Tour de France 2022 begonnen, und wie viele von euch inzwischen bemerkt haben, nehme ich in diesem Jahr nicht an dem Rennen teil. Ich bin mir sicher, dass meine Abwesenheit große Besorgnis ausgelöst hat und viele von euch wahrscheinlich über einen möglichen Bruch zwischen mir und den Organisatoren der Tour de France spekuliert haben. Ich möchte allen versichern, dass dies nicht der Fall ist und ich mich mit den Organisatoren, die ich respektiere, in keiner Weise überworfen habe. Die Gründe für meine Entscheidung, dieses Jahr nicht anzutreten, sind die folgenden: - Ich habe erst heute erfahren, dass die Veranstaltung bereits begonnen hat, und wenn ich jetzt teilnehmen würde, würden die Organisatoren mich wahrscheinlich von Anfang an starten lassen und den anderen Radfahrern einen Vorsprung von vier Tagen geben. - Ich bevorzuge Hallensportarten (ich glaube, der größte Teil der Tour de France findet draußen statt) - Letzte Woche ist die Kette von meinem Fahrrad abgefallen und ich bekomme sie nicht wieder drauf. Ich werde den Freund meines Vaters, Jakob, bitten, sie zu reparieren, wenn ich ihn das nächste Mal sehe, aber ich weiß nicht, wann das sein wird, weil er beruflich viel unterwegs ist und in dieser Zeit viel zu tun hat. - Ich habe keine Radlerhosen, also müsste ich Jeans tragen, und ich habe Angst, dass sich die anderen Radfahrer über mich lustig machen könnten, weil ich anders bin. - Viele der anderen Teilnehmer des Rennens scheinen professionelle Radfahrer zu sein, die viel trainiert haben, was ihnen meiner Meinung nach einen unfairen Vorteil gegenüber mir verschafft, da ich mein Fahrrad eigentlich nur für den Weg zur Arbeit benutze, die nur 4 Minuten von meinem Haus entfernt ist. Und wenn es regnet (was oft vorkommt), fährt mich normalerweise mein Vater. Ich weiß, dass viele von meiner Entscheidung enttäuscht sein werden, aber ich hoffe, dass ihr sie alle respektieren könnt, denn ich glaube, dass es die richtige Entscheidung für mich und für die Tour ist. Ich fordere alle auf, demjenigen zu gratulieren, der die Tour in diesem Jahr gewinnt, und dessen Leistung nicht zu schmälern, nur weil er mich nicht geschlagen hat. Sie werden trotzdem ein hartes, körperlich anspruchsvolles Rennen gewonnen haben, und das verdient Respekt. Meine Abwesenheit sollte - und darf - nicht von ihrem Triumph ablenken. Just a bit of venting because I'm sad

Hey guys I started cycling last summer, more by accident, because I looked for a cheap way to get to my weekly D&D game around 10km away from where I live. Over the course of a few weeks I realized I *love* cycling. Like, I've never really enjoyed any sports in my entire life. At the end of the summer, I rode 90km for the first time and beamed with pride. This winter, my mental health took a turn for the worse and I lost my job, so it was really hard getting back into the saddle, even though I knew cycling was doing wonders for my mental health. After an intense ride, I feel so calm and like I've been actually doing something worthwile with my time. Fast forward to two weeks ago. I did it! I got back into it and rode my bike every day of the week, each time for about 30km, so around an hour ride in the afternoon or evening. Since I wanted to get a bit fitter, I bought a Fitbit Versa 3, started to take my nutrition more seriously and felt like I was making a lot of progress, especially with regards to my mental health. When I ride, I basically think of nothing, or maybe everything, but it just passes by me as if none of it really concerns me. I was looking forward to my ride every day and felt like in a flow state. So, all in all: I felt truly great. Then, last Saturday, thanks to a shit bottleholder, my bottle got locked between frame and tire and my bike catapulted me off. Fortunately, I wasn't going very fast at the time. But nevertheless, I ended up with a quite big quads contusion. Now, I'm facing the reality of not being able to ride for a few weeks and it feels like I'm losing this summer alongside with the best coping method for my mental health I've ever had. And I guess I still can't quite understand that, for the first time in 33 years, I've actually found a sport that I thoroughly enjoy. I'm just sad now and I'm a bit afraid that getting back into cycling after a forced pause will be hard. Anyhow, just needed to vent a little bit. Thanks for listening. :) Edit: Guys, this community is so lovely! I really didn't expect that. Thanks for all your suggestions, empathizing and kind words, it means a lot. Actually makes me motivated to overcome this hiatus. And you made me smile! That's truly all I needed today!

Hey everyone! Not sure if anybody else has experienced this, but before long rides I feel a fair amount of anxiety. Not like a panic attack, just more of some anxious feelings about whether I'll be able to finish the distance, have enough water, issues with bike potentially etc. I prepare for all these things naturally and know in my head that I have enough water, I have a supportive group that's not going to leave me behind, and I have extra tubes etc. I still feel anxious every time though, even when the distance is something that I've done before. I've finished and been fine and I usually feel good once I get out there. But the morning before the ride and getting ready to head to the meet up I always feel unsettled and the nerves in my stomach. Anybody else get this? Any tips maybe?

Hab heute mal versucht es in der Dusche zu machen nachdem mir gesagt wurde ich nutze viel zu viel Kettenöl. Moin allerseits! Über einen Kumpel bin ich auf Gravelbikes gekommen und habe mir um zu schauen, wie ich so damit zurecht komme und ob es mir dauerhaft liegt erst einmal was günstiges zugelegt. Also ist es aufgrund der aktuellen Liefersituation ein Triban GRVL 120 von Decathlon geworden. Ich komme ursprünglich aus dem MTB-Bereich und habe schon Fahrräder in eigentlich allen Preisklassen gehabt und was Decathlon hier abliefert ist meiner Meinung nach für den Preis nur schwer zu schlagen. Bis auf die Bremsen. Von denen habe ich schon vor dem Kauf gedacht, dass ich sie vermutlich upgraden werde. Blöderweise komme ich - wie gesagt - eher vom MTB und kenne mich mit Gravelbikes nicht aus. Einfach mal ne Bremse Tauschen ist dank Rennradkomponenten aber nicht. Ellebätsch zu früh gefreut. Da ich das Bike aber nicht zurückschicken will jetzt die Frage: die Noname mechanischen Scheibenbremsen von Decathlon kommen definitv weg. Aber was kommt drauf? Zur Wahl steht für mich im Moment die Shimano BR-M375 als direkter Teiletausch mit den vorhandenen Bremsen. Das dürfte mich ca. 50€ kosten. Die Alternative hierzu wäre eine komplett neue hydraulische Bremsanlage mit entsprechenden STIs. Hier habe ich nur noch keine gefunden, die ohne weiteres an die 1x10 Microshift Schaltung passen würde. Gibt es hier evtl. Empfehlungen? Zuguterletzt überlege ich mir ein ovales Kettenblatt vorne anzubauen. Bei meinem aktuellen MTB bin ich damit sehr happy. Funktioniert das auf dem Gravelbike gut? Oder lässt man da lieber die Finger von? &#x200B; Danke euch!

Da ich in meiner Heimatstadt schon ab und an die Eurovelo Schildchen gesehen habe, wollte ich mir das mal ansehen und die Initiative finde ich einfach cool! Nur soviel mal vorab. Jetzt gibt es hier zwar eine Karte: [https://de.eurovelo.com/ev7](https://de.eurovelo.com/ev7) aber in die kann man garnicht so weit reinzoomen um die Details zu erkennen. Gibts da auch irgendwie andere Wege die Route zu inspizieren? Würd nur mal gerne ein bisschen planen können. Das Fahrrad wurde laut Verkäufer wenig gefahren und der Einkaufspreis lag wohl bei 1000 € Sollte ich lieber warten oder ist das ein guter Preis?
