Here's a little teaser for those who never ventured into the maddening realm of audiophilia. Gold cables, audio-grade wifi routers, audio-grade power bricks, and power filters made out of amber to make it sound more refined. All starting as low as couple thousand bucks. Every bike equipment review on youtube has a mandatory segment including a kitchen scale, and everyone is obsessed with weight. It's a neverending race for the lightest bike one can obtain. While it can convenient - especially if you have to haul your bike from your apartment on every ride - we have to remember that ultimately what matters is the whole system's weight. That means the bike and the rider weight combined. For an average weekend warrior saving 100 grams from upgrading from Ultegra to DuraAce for example, will save a second on an hour-long trip. Buying a fancy set of carbon wheels is equivalent to riding with one water bottle instead of two. Spending money on your hobby and striving for fancy things is nothing to be ashamed of, but try to be mindful that the end goal is to have fun. Don't let marketing departments force you into emptying your wallet on unnecessary gizmos.

I was able to get a bike that retails at $1800 for $1300. Seller said he rode ~50 miles on it. After test ride and inspection, I concluded that, at most, he'd ridden 48.5 miles on it. Hallo allerseits, &#x200B; nachdem hier immer mal wieder nach Erfahrungsberichten bei den ganzen Versicherungen gefragt wird dachte ich, ich berichte einfach mal, wie es mir ergangen ist. Ich habe mir letztes Jahr ein wunderschönes Orbea Terra H40 gekauft. Neupreis 1799€. Für dieses Rad habe ich bei der Ammerländer Versicherung die „Fahrradvollkasko Optimal“ abgeschlossen. Im März wurde dann in meinen Keller eingebrochen und das Rad geklaut. Es war zu diesem Zeitpunkt nicht nochmal mit einem Schloss gesichert, es stand ja in meinem abgeschlossenen Kellerabteil. Es wurden im Haus alle Keller aufgebrochen und gezielt nur teure Räder gestohlen. Mein günstiges altes Trekkingrad was auch ohne Schloss im gleichen Raum stand haben sie dagelassen. Direkt am Tag, an dem ich es gemerkt habe, habe ich über das Formular auf der Webseite noch eine Schadensmeldung eröffnet. Es kam eine automatische Antwort zurück. Nach dem Wochenende rief ich nochmal an, weil ich vergessen hatte meinen Umzug zu melden und fragte dann auch, wie es mit meiner Schadensmeldung weitergehen würde. „Die haben wir nicht erhalten.“ Also hat sie eine neue Schadensmeldung eröffnet, dieses Mal per Mail an die Kontaktperson vom Telefon. Das Ganze funktioniert über ein PDF, welches man ausfüllen muss. Da müssen auch nochmal alle Informationen rein, die die Versicherung eigentlich schon hat (Rahmennummer, Modell, Kaufdatum, …). Das muss man dann Ausdrucken, mit den Originalbelegen und Fotos vom Abstellort hinschicken. Dann passierte erst mal eine Zeit lang nichts. Ich hatte in der Zwischenzeit schon ein neues Rad bestellt. Man kennt ja die Lieferzeiten. Irgendwann bekam ich dann eine Mail, dass die Auszahlung bewilligt wird. Ich müsste nur Fotos der Rechnung vom neuen hin Rad hinschicken und würde dann die 1799€ Neupreis des alten zurückbekommen. Das habe ich dann, nachdem ich mein neues Rad hatte an einem Montag gemacht, am Dienstag war das Geld auf meinem Konto, am Mittwoch kam das Schreiben über die angepasste Versicherungssumme für mein neues Rad (was ein bisschen teurer ist) und damit war die Sache erledigt. Tldr: Insgesamt bin ich trotz eines kleinen bisschen Bürokratie sehr zufrieden und würde die Versicherung insgesamt weiterempfehlen.

Komoot /Touren abseits der üblichen Reiseradwege

Moin, ich, fahre gerne mit meinen sportlichen Bio Trekking oder Gravelbike alleine 90 bis 120 KM Strecken . Angefangen habe ich vor 4 Jahren und mache das circa 15 mal im Jahr. Das fast immer von meinem Ort aus. Mittlerweile nutze ich aber auch den Zug um weiter rauszukommen. Da ich im Schichtbetrieb arbeite und auch am Wochenende habe ich auch mal in der Woche frei . Fahre also an verschiedenen Tagen. Mir macht das Spaß, genieße die Natur , die Ruhe und einwenig Fitness ist auch dabei. Was mir aufgefallen ist das dies außer mir anscheinend niemand macht. Ich fahre an 35 Bänken, Rastplätzen vorbei, niemand sitzt dort oder nutzt sie. Ich werde auf diesen Strecken weder überholt noch überhole ich andere Radfahrer ,außer wenn es durch Innenstädte geht. Gestern, Sonntag habe ich eine Rentnergruppe von 4 Leuten auf Ebikes überholt aber sonst war gähnende Leere auf dieser Strecke. Ich frage mich woran liegt das ? Fahren alle nur diese üblichen Radreisewege wie z.B Donauradweg, Emslandradweg ? Ich bin den Emslandradweg einmal gefahren und nie wieder. Ständig muss man Grüppchen überholen und jede 2 Bank ist belegt. Ich finde den auch nicht besonders schön. Anscheinend ballen sich alle Reiseradler auf wenige KM Fahrstrecke obwohl abseits dessen wesentlich hübschere Strecken liegen ? Oder liegt es daran das in meinem Landkreis Emsland eher eine gering besiedelte Bevölkerungsdichte herrscht? Persönlich hab ich damit kein Problem. Die Einsamkeit hat ja auch irgendwas aber merkwürdig finde ich das schon. Fahrt ihr auch Touren abseits der üblichen Reiseradwege und habt die gleichen Erfahrungen gemacht wie ich? ###
