Well hello there fine pedal pushers!! As the title suggests I've ridden my bike (carbs) 507.26 miles commuting through London this year already. Here is my honest, and mostly sarcastic tips and tricks. ​ 1. Look over your shoulder (bend your arm when doing so, it helps stay straight). This move is called a lifesaver in the motorbiking world, there is a reason why. Especially when in a cycle lane, when coming up to a T junction, look over your right shoulder to see if any cars are indicating to turn left. Alway know what's behind you. 2. Don't blind spot cruise - We are in control of our own action, not in-control of other road users. So don't cruise in the blind spot of a car. Because you can't see their actions and they cant see you. You are simply asking for trouble. 3. Eye contact - Catching eye with a driver / pedestrian helps you understand their intentions. If their body language doesn't show you they are turning, then their face probably will. 4. Take a spare inner tube, tyre levers and pump. Because we all love a good pump at the side of the road. 5. Understand your route. Lumps, bumps, danger spots, junctions... common dangers. When you ride the route everyday you should familiarise yourself and therefore anticipate any danger. 6. As a consequence of point 5... don't be complacent because you know the route 7. FOCUS - It helps clear your mind and helps keep you safe. 8. Wear the tightest clothing you can... because Aero 9. Wear padded shorts. There are so many **Barses** crying out for help. Don't let your Barse glow like a lightbulb. Give it some protection. 10. Lights. I don't care if you are lit up like your nans Christmas tree. Being seen is important (Use lights, angle them correctly, charge them frequently) 11. Protect that beautiful round shaped thing on the top of your neck. YOUR HEAD. The mental side of things 1. Don't ride when you are not in the right mind frame (Normally angry). If you woke up in the morning, got out bed the wrong side, put your pants on backwards, burnt your tongue on coffee, slipped on a banana skin (which you are allergic to) and had a reaction, it's raining like the hulks having a piss, your hungover, you just sneezed so hard from said hangover which made your ears pop and eyes pop-out 4mm... then don't ride. In all seriousness..., there are so many points on the physical/technical side to riding, but don't under estimate your mental state. 2. Be positive - Riding is freeing and great for both your mental and physical health... So be open and let cycling have that effect. It's super freeing for me and the best part of my day. Enjoy yourself peeps, cycling is a great sport, mode of transport, therapy, whatever you want it to be. Be at one with your machine... give it a name, take care of it, clean it with a natural sponge form the bottom of the ocean. Take care of your bike, and it'll take care of you!! :) :) :) \---- Edit: Wow, I woke up to a load of upvotes, some great replies and some hilarious comments. Moin allerseits, wir kennen das doch alle, irgendwelche Verschleißteile müssen erneuert werden. Habt ihr irgendwelche Geheimtipps bzgl. Hersteller und Angebote? Ich weiß, ich weiß, /r/hailcorporate, aber manchmal liegt der Tipp halt nicht in der Technik sondern im einzelnen Produkt. Meine Empfehlung voran: Bremsklötze / Bremsschuhe für V-Brakes von Jagwire. Die Dinger bremsen wie die Hölle und sind je nach Händler für 3,50 - 4€ zu haben (ausgenommen Versandkosten). Wenn man eh was bestellt, oder wenn man den Mindestbestellwert erreichen muss, würde ich die Teile immer empfehlen. Super Bremsleistung, gibt's in verschiedenen Farben für den ästhetischen Radler. Was sind eure Tipps? Von wem kriegt man am besten Verschleißteile die was taugen für den kleinen Geldbeutel?

Es gibt keine Threads dazu, also starte ich das mal Meine Situation: Ich habe seit einigen Monaten ein Rad mit *Racktime Shine Evo RTA Rear Rack* und möchte gerne das Klicksystem endlich mal intensiver nutzen. Habe auch zwei Seitentaschen, aber hätte gerne noch eine Tasche für oben drauf für weiteres Transportvolumen, aber hautpsächlich als Alternative, um manchmal die Seitentaschen nicht zu benutzen. Was benutzt ihr da so in dem Bereich, was könnt ihr empfehlen?
