I've been having sciatica for months, but my Orthopedic told me it wasn't surgical. There was a disc herniation at L5. Tried injections, PT, everything. Nothing helped. Anyway, long story short, I recently moved and found someone out near where I live. In less than a week, I'm able to ride my bike without any searing sciatica pain going down my leg. The guy is a miracle worker. I'm not nearly as fast or strong as I used to be though. But I'll get back there. I'm very cautious I'll reinjure the nerve and set myself back again. The air felt so good (before it rained).

I cycle sometimes, i used to have a bmx which i rode as a early teen and then rode again a few years later and even after 1 day of riding it my taint was really sensitive and i think bruised although i never looked. I also like to use the cycling machines at the gym but they make my taint hurt for a day after. Am i just supposed to rough it out? I have never had the testicle ache problems but this is a whole different beast, sometimes i'll just go for it and cycle but I end up sitting down with a pillow under me for 2-3 days

I am starting to look for a summer job and I would love to do something with bikes. The trek store near my house is looking for both a part time sale associate and a part time mechanic. I am more interested in the mechanic position becusse I genuinely want to learn more about wrenching on bikes, however I am a little apprehensive about applying because I don’t have very much experience with anything mechanical. I can only do basic matinence at the moment. Is trek a good company to work for? Would they be willing to teach me if I am eager to listen/learn, or is it the kind of job that you need to have skills before applying?

I’ve been mountain biking since the early 90s And I also own an older steel cross bike that I used in a couple of races, but more as a general use bike on bike paths and around town. I just picked up my first proper, nice [road bike](https://www.planetx.co.uk/i/q/CBTIRRFOR1/titus-roadrunner-sram-force-1-titanium-road-bike) (titanium with carbon fork, size small so it has 70° head tube) So I can get out when I can’t make it to the trails. Hopping on the bike, I’ve noticed that the steering is a lot more “Squirrley” and it was less stable than a mountain bike, especially when I get out of the saddle to sprint and at low speeds. I wanted to make sure that this is normal and that it does not mean that there’s an issue with the sizing of the bike ( if it is slightly too small).

First bike fall with clips today...two observations

After two months of road cycling I had my first fall today using clips. I dreaded this moment but knew it was going to happen but I wasn't expecting this scenario. Basically a dog suddenly crossed my path and when I tried to avoid him he moved in the same direction I did, fortunately I was able to stop before hitting him but wasnt able to unclip on time and fell to my left in what it felt like extremely slow motion. Two observations: 1. Dogs are VERY unpredictable obstacles so be sure to add that to your list of hazards 2. I fell to my left, I guess there's less likelihood of bike damage on that side? Dog was ok, I was ok just a scraped left knee, bike frame ok haha seriously that was my #1 worry just scraped a bit of the handlebar tape. Safe riding!!

Liebe Community, neulich fuhren an mir zwei Radfahrer vorbei, die beide eine Art Mikro trugen. (Ob eine Art Lautsprecher oder Kopfhörer konnte ich auf die Schnelle nicht erkennen, trugen Radhelme.) Da dachte ich mir: *Das* würde mich auch interessieren! Klar, man kann so etwas auch mit Handys und Freisprecheinrichtungen o.ä. basteln. Ich würde so ein System aber evtl. auch für meine Kinder verwenden und die haben noch keine Handys. \^\^ Ich weiß, dass es solche Funksysteme für Motorradfahrer gibt, habe da aber nie weiter geschaut. Passen die auch für Radfahrer? Hat jemand Erfahrung mit solchen Systemen oder Ideen, in welche Richtung ich da gucken könnte?
