Need Pro-Cycling Advice

Hi All, I need some realistic advice. To background, I’m a heavily active 26 y/o healthy female. I was a D1 athlete in college and since then have consistently kept up with working out (4-5 days a week, usually an hour long session - mixes of cycling classes, strength, HIIT, HIIT style running, etc) I used to ride my bike around a lot before I had a car, so I’m good with riding in general. In a month there is a bike ride happening in honor of fallen officers. My dad, a police officer for 31 years, passed in December of 2020 from Covid pneumonia. I would be doing this ride in honor of him. The bike ride is 150 miles (Delaware to DC) over the span of 4 days with breaks each day. I can’t tell if it is completely unrealistic of me to think I could do this. I understand that I am not an avid cycler, and that it is not an easy task, but I think that because I am young, healthy and I workout frequently, plus the fact that there are breaks and most importantly, given the reason of the ride, I think I can do it. My s/o is a bit concerned about whether I can do it safely or not. So, I’m asking the cycling community - does this sound realistic of me to do? Edit: Thank you all for the advice, support and kind words! I’ve made a list of everything I’ve compiled from the comments and will be sure to abide by your words of wisdom. I’m feeling confident about this more than ever. Will update in May once I’ve finished! Thank you all again. My dad is also thanking you for guiding me in this journey for him ❤️

Hi Redditers This is my first official post after being on the sidelines (lurking) for a few months. I have read a few of the threads here and it is amazing to see such a supportive community. I currently am 6ft3 and weigh 135 kgs (+/- 300 lbs) and have just decided to try to get into shape, be more mobile, and take up cycling. I have done all the research and have decided to go for the Trek Marlin 6 (2022). So very excited to get onto a bike after 20 years and use it as an opportunity to be active with my children. I am nervous that the weight limit is 300 lbs (including the bike) and just want some one with similar experience with this bike or similar to give their thoughts. I am so excited to finally get back into shape, get active and be part of something new Look forward to your responses

Hi, ich habe gerade an zwei Rädern die Belege der hinteren Scheibenbremse gewechselt. Das erste Rad hat eine neuere Shimano 105er Ausstattung. Der Wechsel ging problemlos und die Bremse funktioniert wieder. Das zweite Rad hat eine ca. 15 Jahre alte Shimano Deore XT Ausstattung. Ich habe die alten Belege entfernt, die Bremssattel vorsichtig zurück gedrückt und dann die neuen eingebaut. Jetzt hat die Bremse überhaupt keinen Druck mehr. Ich habe dann mit meinem Shimano Entlüftungsset zwei mal entlüftet. Keine Verbesserung. Das Entlüften ist schwierig, da man den üblichen Becher am Griff nicht anbringen kann. Es gibt nur eine Art Deckel den man abschrauben muss. Was kann ich falsch gemacht haben? Kann durch den Austausch irgendwie Luft ins System gekommen sein? Habe ich die Bremssattel kaputt gemacht?
