Yesterday I made a post about me beating 14 miles. Today my friend called me on a ride. In total it was 4 hours, and we rode so much! I was so EXHAUSTED that I almost did it to home. Also yeah, thanks for the tip. I bought some snacks and they really helped to restore some hunger. Fucking hell man. I didnt think I could do this right today. I thought I would need to train a few weeks, but nope, it is here! It wasnt easy at all, but 10 miles now seem like a joke. Totally worth it. Cycling is life

Der Hinweg ist meist in den frühen Morgenstunden, und deshalb entsprechend kühl. Der Rückweg fällt allerdings unweigerlich in die Zeit um ca. 16 Uhr, wo die Temperaturbelastung am höchsten ist. I'm new to cycling so I'm still learning the ropes and one of the only real issues I'm having right now is involving the rope. I'll try to keep this as PG as I can but if I get too vulgar, I apologize in advance. I don't claim to be Hub-worthy but cycling has given me newfound confidence, apparently. I just recently bought my first big boy bike, a Trek FX2. It's not a "cool" bike and I know people like to dump on Trek but it was available at a bike shop and I really liked it, so I figured it'd be a great entry into the sport. Down the road, if I stick with it, I'll upgrade to one of the cooler brands and models. So far I've been LOVING it and in the week and a half that I've owned the bike I've been out every day so far and I'm well over 100 miles already. No complaints, except one.... I took the bike shop dude's suggestion and invested in a couple of pairs of spandex shorts with the padding built in. Not that it matters but they were a couple of cheaper pairs of Bontrager shorts they had available that I'm sure were still vastly overpriced but oh well. All in all, they do the job and I've been problem free in most areas where things would normally rub around. The kickstand, however... has been a struggle. There doesn't seem to be any obvious intended placement for it so I've tried experimenting and none of them quite feel right and some of them result in some unpleasant friction. So I'm hoping the guys here can help me orient my.... self. Or at least offer some suggestions. To help, I've come up with a clock system that I hope is PG enough while still conveying properly my dilemma. Imagine you're looking at me head on and my waist area is a clock. Where should the hour hand be facing? Do I put it at 12? Because I tried that and it's not great. Today I went with a 3 o'clock and I found myself constantly adjusting and dealing with some unwanted friction. 6 is just not happening. \*\* Edit: das Rätsel hat sich gelöst. Die alten Beläge waren verölt. Vielen Dank für Eure Hilfe! Ich versuche sie durch Erhitzen nochmal zum Leben zu erwecken. Wenn das nicht klappt -> Lehrgeld. Weitere Infos: alle Beläge bis jetzt waren organisch, die Bremse ist von der Firma SRAM Model RED 22. Die alten Beläge sind von Contec und die neuen von Galfer. Ich hoffe jemand hat eine Idee warum ich das nicht richtig hinbekommen habe. Ich hatte am Vorderrad die Bremsbeläge ersetzt. Ich hatte eine Testfahrt gemacht und die Bremsleistung war miserabel. Einbremsen hat nichts geholfen. Wenn ich den Hebel komplett ziehe fängt es an zu quietschen. Die Bremse am Hinterrad war gefühlt 4 mal besser in der Leistung. Wie bin ich vorgegangen? \- alte Beläge raus \- Bremssattel mit Papiertuch gereinigt und dann großzügig mit Bremsenreiniger eingesprüht. \- Nochmal mit Papiertuch gereinigt um zu sehen ob alles sauber ist \- Bremskolben reingedrückt \- neue Beläge rein \- Bremsscheibe auf beiden Seiten mit Papiertuch gereinigt und dann großzügig mit Bremsenreiniger eingesprüht. \- Neue Beläge rein (war nicht mit dem Finger dran) Jetzt wurde es mir zu doof und ich hab nach 3 Wochen die Beläge rausgenommen. Und wieder so montiert wie beim ersten mal. Hab ich bei der Montage einen Fehler gemacht? Zum Rad: das ist 16 Monate alt, Bremsflüssigkeit wurde noch nicht gewechselt. Fahrleistung ca. 5000km. Aktuell versuche ich den 3. Satz Beläge vorne in Betrieb zu nehmen.
