Having ridden for about a decade, I've mainly used leather saddles and padded shorts on longer rides. Recently, that just wasn't doing it for my commuter ebike's daily 30 mile round trip, so I broke down and installed the Cloud 9 padded saddle recommended on the ebike forums. It ended up being a very positive change in terms of quality of ride enjoyment, so I've been pondering this issue. Why one and not the other? I've read over and over that padded saddles and covers create pressure zones, but how are equivalent amounts of padding not doing the exact same thing in chamois form?

I’ve been using a Thule hitch rack for the better part of a year. I bought it specifically to carry my carbon gravel bike, it was the top result when I searched for carbon-safe bike racks. I had a concern that the hook was touching my fork and reached out to Thule. Here’s their reply: > We have verified and The Thule T2 Pro X - XT o r XTR is Carbon frame compatible because the way if attaches the bike is not directly to the frame but to the wheels, unfortunately this is not designed for bikes with carbon fork, and unfortunately we currently don't have any adapter or covers for this For those not aware- any bike rack contact points can and will damage carbon. I’ll be looking for another option that doesn’t touch my frame or fork.
