As the title states, I did 30. Goodness me I can't wipe the grin off my face. I've been hella overweight for years, dropped 68 pounds with a ketogenic diet, and unfortunately gained some back(not all of it!) but I knew that one day I actually wanted to be fit, not just skinny. So, I chose cycling. I initially wanted to do this to commute to work, and I've been doing that a good bit, but I found a proper trail 4 miles from my house and can't stay away from it!! My goal is a half century, but to be fairly close to it like this, man. It doesn't seem impossible at all now. I need to upgrade to clipless pedals(I'm riding a Trek 7.1 that I got for CHEAP) and I know doing that will take some getting used to. Anyway, I just had to share. I've loved reading through this sub as it is incredibly inspiring. Here's to more rides!!

My name is Brian Tiry and along with several other great people, just rode our bikes over 400 miles from Montreal, QC to Boston, MA in order to raise money for the American Cancer Society. Our company, Randstad, supported this great event and we set a goal to raise $70,000 between the Randstad Canada and Randstad USA teams. Below is some more information about the ride and a link to the donation page if you feel so inclined! In 2014, Myriam Laaouan, passed away from Leukemia after a tough battle. She was young and loved life and makes you realize that this could happen to anyone.
