I've been cycling alone for over a year now and I'd really like to have some other people to do it with. My problem is that I've only been cycling for a year, and I think my (frankenstein $300 MTB that I "modified" into a road bike) bike is just going to be laughed at when everyone else has nice shiny road bikes with prices in the thousands. I'm also not sure that I'm good enough, since I ride at around 26-32kmh (16-20mph) on mostly undulating terrain. Plus, I probably look silly since I ride with a backpack, only have a jersey and gym shorts and some old running shoes etc... ​ I live in Berlin (3.5 million people) so I'm sure there are people I could meet, but I'd feel incredibly self-conscious. I also have no idea what websites or apps I need to use in order to find other cyclists.

So, I took an early lunch break to see what they had left and was surprised to see the amount of size S apparel still available (it may be the first time in my life I was truly delighted to be a size small male). The store was pretty busy and stuff was moving fast, so I grabbed what I could and retreated to a changing room.
