Hallo zusammen, Jetzt wo sich das bessere Wetter immer mal wieder durchblicken lässt kam bei mir auch der Gedanke auf, eben jenes mal häufiger zu nutzen um ein paar entspannte Touren zu machen und meine Umgebung kennen zu lernen. Denn grundsätzlich fahre ich gerne Fahrrad, jedoch ein Problem dabei: Ich habe nicht wirklich viel Ahnung von Fahrrädern. Jetzt in der letzten Woche habe ich mal eine ganz kurze Testfahrt mit dem Fahrrad meines Vertrauens, was jetzt doch einige Monate mehr oder weniger ungenutzt im Keller steht und was soll ich sagen; Es war schrecklich. Vieles an dem Rad quietscht, rattert oder ist allgemein schwergängig. Sicher auch Folge meiner zum Teil vernachlässigten Pflege des Geräts. Also ist mein aktuelles Projekt, den wunderbaren Drahtesel in den nächsten Tagen und Wochen wieder soweit auf Vordermann zu bringen, dass es wieder Spaß macht damit zu fahren. Jetzt steht also bei mir ein ~~Elefant im Raum~~ Fahrrad im Wohnzimmer und mir fällt wieder ein: *Ich habe nicht wirklich Ahnung von Fahrrädern*. Deshalb will ich jetzt hier mal einfach allgemein um Rat fragen, wie man sowas angeht, was ggf. Anlaufpunkte sind wie/was man tun kann/muss und was eure Empfehlungen sind. Grundsätzlich bin ich auch sehr daran interessiert, zu lernen wie ich mehr an dem Fahrrad in Zukunft selbst erkennen/beheben kann, also wenn ihr dafür gute Quellen habt immer her damit. Man möge mir verzeiehn, wenn ich hier nicht für alle Bauteile o.Ä. die korrekten Begriffe verwende. Was mir mit meinem eingeschränkten Wissen schonmal aufgefallen ist und was ich mir definitiv auch selbst zutraue zu erledigen: * Dreck: Überall an allen beweglichen und unbeweglichen Teilen sind Dreckablagerungen und Verkrustungen. Die würde ich natürlich als erstes mal beseitigen. * Wie geht man hier am besten vor? Alle Teile soweit wie möglich entfernen und einzeln reinigen/ölen/fetten und dann in umgekehrter Reihenfolge zusammensetzen? Oder gibt es Teile die man besser selbst nicht aus/einbaut? * Bremsen: Muss ich auf jeden Fall nachjustieren und vermutlich schadet es auch nicht hier neue Bremsblöcke einzubauen, der letzte Wechsel ist schon länger her. * Mäntel: Sind zumindest auf der Hinterachse schon recht abgefahren, Werde ich also entsprechend ersetzen. Vorne sieht der grundsätzlich noch ganz okay aus. Das wird aber vermute ich bei weitem nicht alles sein, daher habe ich einfach mal die konkreten Fragen in die Runde: * Was gibt es sonst nocht für typische Verschleißteile? * Wie erkennt man bei denen, dass ein Austausch notwendig ist? * Bei welchen kann man den Austausch mit ein wenig Geschick selbst erledigen und wo lässt man das besser einen Profi machen? * Gangschaltung: Auch hier habe ich ein paar Probleme bemerkt, dass die einfach nicht mehr sauber schaltet. Ich würde damit vermutlich auch eher in eine Werkstatt gehen aber trotzdem: Wie komplex ist es grundsätzlich diese richtig zu "justieren"? Kennt ihr da vielleicht gut Materialien/Youtube Tutorials wo man so etwas auch autodidaktisch erlernen kann? * Da ich vermutlich nicht alles selbst beheben kann: Gibt es irgendwelche "Anzeichen" an denen man gute/schlechte Fahrradwerkstätte erkennt? * Woher weiß ich als Laie, ob der angesetzte Preis "fair" für die entsprechenden Teile/Reparatur ist und der Händler mir nicht gerade das Fahrrad-äquivalent eines vergoldeten HDMI Kabels verkauft? Und letztlich, damit ich nicht wieder in einem Jahr oder wann auch immer vor dem gleichen Problem stehe: Was sind die wichtigsten Punkte bei der Pflege eines Fahrrads? Das fängt schon bei so grundlegenden stupiden Fragen an wie "Wie und wie oft sollte man sein Fahrrad eigentlich reinigen? Und wo macht man das eigentlich, mit Wohnung im vierten Stock und nur einem kleinen Kellerabteil wo das Fahrrad zwischen den Fahrten steht?" So you like to ride bikes and want to start training to get faster, go farther, get fitter. So you should be training hard right? Riding until you're gasping for air? Well yes, but actually no. The best way to get faster is to upgrade the engine from the bottom up. Your heart rate is like the RPM Gauge on a car. Your max heart rate is at the max of the gauge, in the red line. Generally there are 5 zones on the gauge. >MAX HR: 100% (EX: 195 BPM) > >Zone 5: 90+ % (175+ BPM) > >Zone 4: 82-90% (160-175 BPM) > >Zone 3: 75-82% (145-175 BPM) > >Zone 2: 65-75% (125-145 BPM) > >Zone 1: 65- % (125- BPM) Zone-2 Training refers to that lower end of the gauge, where you're really not riding hard but just cruising along at an easy pace, able to breathe through your nose, or chat easily. Your body, or the engine, is powered by many Mitochondria (The Powerhouse of the Cell!). Our Cells are Hybrid and can run off 2 types of fuel: Fats or Sugars. Sugars are a quick and powerful source of energy that our body uses when doing a hard effort in the higher zones (3+). However, burning Sugars generates Lactic Acid as a byproduct, which builds up and makes our muscles feel fatigued. When taking it easy in Zone-2 your body is mainly using Fats for fuel. Fats burn clean and efficiently, generating no lactic acid, but aren't very powerful. These Fat-Burning cells also know how to break down the Lactic Acid that the Sugars leave behind and can use that as fuel too. Training in Zone-2 helps to increase the amount of Fat-Burning Cells in your muscles and their ability to convert Fats and Lactic Acids into energy. This type of training upgrades the engine from the bottom up by building "Base Fitness" or a foundation which allows you to better burn Fats at low intensity, saving your Sugars for when you need them most, and to more efficiently clear Lactic Acid buildup in your muscles. This results in a greater top-end potential too, as the whole system is now more efficient, allowing you to ride farther and faster than before. In a nutshell: The tortoise beats the hare. Happened a block away from my house. I pulled up and started turning left on a red light going from a one way, to a one way. There were parked cars between my lane and the bike lane and the cyclist went through the red light as I was turning and came from nowhere from the other side of the parked cars. It was one of those moments where you’re just in shock and don’t pay attention to the details as it’s happening, so all I heard was her yelling at me and I started to pull away. As I looked in the rear view mirror, she just gave me a dirty look and kept riding. I had to pull over on the side of the road to collect myself, as nothing like this has ever happened before. My paranoia has been wrecking havoc on me all day. What if my car did touch her and I didn’t notice? Then the cops would show up and charge me for a hit and run? Unlikely scenarios, but they won’t stop looping in my head. Panicking that I could have really injured someone, and things like that really mess with your mindset. Even though I fully believe this cyclist was at fault, I can’t help but feel really guilty. Is this a normal occurrence for cyclists? How do they get handled? I’m very scared of what would happen to me. EDIT: This was in the US btw EDIT #2: forgot to add one more tidbit. One of the things my paranoia is telling me is what if I look at security footage and I was actually in the wrong? I take this way to work all the time. I actually asked the security team in the buildings on either side of the street about video footage, but neither were able to show me anything without authorization and it didn’t seem worth going down that rabbit hole.

Habe auf Twitter erfahren, dass es ab dem 24.02.2022 den Film “Besser Welt als Nie” im Öffentliche rechtlichen Fernsehen zu sehen geben wird.
