I'm going to be taking a long train trip with my friend and our bikes. We'd like ideas on how to arrange the bikes for the train trip so they take up minimal space. Since my google-fu fails to come up with the right combination of words to find any useful suggestions, I thought I'd ask the hive intelligence of /r/cycling to see what ideas they have. The goal is see if two gravel bikes can be assembled and re-assembled in any sensible combination to take up only one space on the bike rack in the trains we'll be taking. ​ Our current best idea: 1. Remove both front wheels and saddles to transport separately 2. Turn both handlebars to the same direction 3. Lay cardboard between frames to reduce scratching 4. EDIT: Now all sorted as have a second reservationssembled and re-assembled in any sensible combination to take up only one space on the bike rack in the trains we'll be taking. 5.
