First time getting hit by a car + PSA to other cyclists

Sorry if this is a bit rambly. On my ride today I got hit for the first time by an old lady in a BMW while crossing the street on a green light in a bike crossing. Only lightly scraped up and bike is fine as it was more of a sideswipe, but a bit shaken up. As I was approaching the crossing with 20 seconds left on the light, a cyclist coming the other way waved through a BMW waiting to turn right. BMW didn’t look to see if it was clear to go, turning out right in front of me and giving me mere feet to try to stop. I obviously couldn’t stop in time, banging into the side of their car and getting scraped a bit on their door. Me being careful and anticipating what could go wrong at that crossing possibly saved me from a much worse collision. PSA to other cyclists, and even motorists: do not wave through cars that don’t have the right of way. They will usually not verify that it’s safe to go, leading to dangerous situations. This is called the “wave of death” for a reason.

Finally tried out a pair of The Black Bibs, since people on this sub recommend them a lot. The main appeal is that they're *way* cheaper than most competitors. I ride a few thousand miles a year and have used fancy bibs from Pearl Izumi, Castelli, and Rapha, so I feel pretty qualified to judge these. Here's my take: **Pros:** * Super cheap. Better than anything else you're going to find for $40, hands down. I don't even know if anyone else makes bibs for that cheap. * Very thick padding under the sit bones * Slippery fabric doesn't cling to the saddle. This is subjective, but I like to shift positions a lot and it's nice to be able to slide around * Nice mesh upper fabric * Wide shoulder straps. I have a reasonably muscular upper body and skinny straps dig in (looking at you, Castelli) **Cons:** * Padding isn't quite in the right place for me. This will also be subjective, but I think the padding would be better situated for a more upright riding position than I use. As it was, the thickest part of the padding was sort of behind my butt rather than under it. * No sticky rubber lining in the cuffs. Again, some people prefer it this way, but I like that little strip of clingy material. These rode up a bit on me. * Not as comfortable on long rides. I've only put a few hours in these, but they started to get sore after 2+ hours, and I've done 8+ in my much more expensive bibs without the same kind of discomfort. **Verdict:** extremely good value for money. If you're just starting out and don't have the budget to spend $200+ on bibs (which is totally understandable), then these are a great place to start and infinitely better than not wearing padded shorts at all. If you commute every day and just want a few more pairs so you don't have to do laundry constantly, these are also a great option. If, however, you're looking for a premium bib for long days in the saddle, you're going to have to shell out for the super nice ones.

Am geläufigsten sind mir Klappsitze, die, wenn unbenutzt, einen Großen Raum zum Fahrrad abstellen bieten. Das Problem ist hier fast immer, dass jemand der aussteigen will das Fahrrad hinter fünf anderen Fahrrädern heraus holen muss. Hier ist es sehr hilfreich sich mit anderen Personen mit Fahrrad abzusprechen, wer als zuerst aussteigen muss. In einem Italienischen Zug habe ich Mal mein Fahrrad am Vorderrad aufhängen können, so ist der Platz oben drüber besser genutzt. Was gibt es noch so an Möglichkeiten, Fahrräder gut im Zug zu verstauen? Habt ihr da bessere Erfahrungen gemacht oder nutzt ihr das "Klappsitzmodell" vielleicht anders?

Moin, ich wohne in einen kleinen 3000 Seelen Örtchen. Eigentlich ist das Leben hier OK. Es gibt die nötigsten Geschäfte Ärzte, Bahnhof, Schulen etc. Eigentlich eine gute Basis. Allerdings ist die Infrastruktur für Fahrradfahrer für'n Popo. Der Ort wird in Ost-West und nord-Süd- Richtung von zwei Durchgangsstraßen durchkreuzt, auf denen das Recht des stärkeren gilt. Diese zwei Straßen werden nun mittelfristig saniert, aber die Gemeindevertretung zeigt wenig Motivation die Rad-und Gehwege (welche aktuell häufig nicht breiter als ein Meter sind) zu verbreitern. Der ganze Ort ist noch in der typischen 80er-Jahre-der Autoverkehr-hat-Vorrang-Bauweise gebaut und das möchte ich ändern. Wie gehe ich es an, die Gemeindevertreter und auch die Kreisverwaltung von einer notwendigen Verbesserung für uns Fahrradfahrer zu überzeugen? Habt ihr Tipps? Den lokalen ADFC Vertreter habe ich schon angeschrieben, aber bisher habe keine Rückmeldung.

Hallo ihr Lieben, in diesen Sub habe ich schon mehrfach gelesen, dass man bei Gebrauchtkäufen darauf achten sollte, dass der originale Kaufvertrag dabei ist (ich nehme an aus rechtlichen Gründen?). Mir macht das Radfahren mittlerweile so viel Spaß, dass ich gerade dabei bin auf Ebay Kleinanzeigen nach einem passenden Rennrad zu suchen. Dabei habe ich eins gefunden, dass nach einem passenden Deal aussieht, aber leider ist der originale Kaufvertrag nicht mehr vorhanden. Wie tragisch ist dies? Macht es das aus eurer Sicht zu einem No-Go das Rad zu kaufen? Im Internet habe ich vom ADAC eine Vorlage für einen Kaufvertrag "für den privaten Verkauf eines gebrauchten Fahrrads" gefunden, wäre das als Ersatz ausreichend, wenn er von beiden Parteien ausgefüllt wird? &#x200B; Vielen Dank und frohes Radeln euch!

Ich bin in gerade in Ungarn und nun ist es mir zum ersten Mal passiert, dass ich in eine brenzlige Situation mit einem Hund geraten bin. Er kam von hinten angerannt und ist mir ans Bein gesprungen. Dabei hat er mich auch erwischt, hat aber nicht wirklich gebissen, sondern nur ein paar Schrammen verursacht. Ich konnte ihn dann vertreiben, indem ich zur Seite gekickt habe. Das Desinfektionsmittel hat mehr gebrannt, als der "Biss" selber und die Wunde hat nicht wirklich geblutet. Ich bin gegen Tetanus und Tollwut geimpft. Also muss ich mir keine Sorgen machen, dass das noch hässlich wird, oder? Und was macht man eigentlich in so einer Situation, wenn der Hund nicht nach einem Tritt verschwindet?
