Ich pendel jeden Tag 16 km ins Büro und wieder zurück. Egal bei welchen Wetter. Es gibt nur wenige Ausnahmen, wenn ich z.B. mit einer Erkältung zu kämpfen habe, auf Dienstreisen bin oder Glatteis uns heimsucht. Das ist aber zum Glück alles selten der Fall. Chris Froome talks trash about disc brakes.What do you think ? ​ The downside to disc brakes: the constant rubbing, the potential for mechanicals, the overheating, the discs becoming a bit warped when on descents longer than five or 10 minutes of constant braking. ​ The distance between the disc and the rotors is still too narrow, so you're going to get that rubbing, you're going to get one piston that fires more than another, you're going to get these little issues. I don’t think the pistons quite retract the way they're meant to all the time. Ich hab mir vor kurzem ein neues Rad welches ein ganzes Stück teurer ist als was bis jetzt so gefahren bin, weshalb ich es jetzt doch gern Versichern. Diebstahls Versicherung ist schon mit der Haftpflicht gedeckt. Mir geht's viel mehr um eine Unfall Versicherung. Was habt ihr so an Erfahrung mit Fahrrad Versicherungen gemacht?

Can't decide on all-road carbon disc wheelset for ~1100 €...

Hi everyone. I'm planning to upgrade to a 700c carbon disc wheelset. My goal to stay below 1300 € narrows down options, but the wide spectrum of usage makes it obvious that there is no clear choice. Use cases: * Gravel riding on 40-44mm TL tires, muddy and bumpy, but flat terrain, singletrails * Endurance road rides on 28mm TL tires, up to 500 km a day planned this year * Light bikepacking on gravel, me + gear being around 80 kg So with mostly flat terrain and decent speed, aero will definitely matter. Weight not too much, but I'm unsure carbon is worth getting if the weight is higher than 1600 g. Some robustness is needed as well. Candidates: * [Hunt 30 Carbon](https://eu.huntbikewheels.com/products/hunt-30carbon-gravel-disc-road-wheelset-1469g-30deep-27wide-999): Very light, hooked rim, so I can keep using the GP 5000 which I love for their speed and resilience. Supposedly softer resins, making for a better ride on bumpy terrain. However, low rim depth makes it the least aero choice. According to [Hambini](https://www.hambini.com/testing-to-find-the-fastest-bicycle-wheels/), Hunt also doesn't really seem to know their aerodynamics. Not sure how easy the hubs are to work with. * [Roval C 38](https://www.specialized.com/de/en/roval-c-38-disc-wheelset/p/159158?color=239326-159158&searchText=30018-4500): Established company, common DT hubs for which I already have tools. However, even though I've somewhere seen them recommended for gravel, I'm not sure they should be used for that. Shape seems oddly rectangular, no aero spokes either. Also not the lightest. * [Zipp 303 S](https://www.sram.com/en/zipp/models/wh-303-stld-a1): Probably my favorite choice thus far. Aero, decent weight. Not sure how easy the hubs are to work with, but they're documented well by Sram/Zipp. Major drawback seems to be the hookless design severely limiting tire choice. I'd have to find an alternative to the GP 5000 TL which ran fast (and lighter than most) and safely for thousands of miles without a single flat, even on gravel. Hookless may also limit the usage of whatever future models the tire companies come up with. * Open to more suggestions! So what's your take on wheelsets in this price range? Did any of you have problems with their wheels or wheel companies? Will hookless design catch on, or could it die out, leaving us stranded without tire options in the future? Do straight-pull spokes matter? Any thoughts on hub maintenance? Sorry about the wall of text. Would greatly appreciate any opinions. ​ EDIT: Thanks for all the replies! Tire repair kit for rides

I’m new-ish to cycling and had my first flat tire the other day - unfortunately I didn’t bring anything to repair it and had to get picked up (the one time I brought my phone on my ride). So my question is, what should I bring on my ride next time that is portable and able to help me in a situation such as a flat tire? Patch repair kit? New tube? A portable pump? I like to be pretty light on my rides and usually have been riding between 25-50 miles. Edit: wow, first time positing in here and am very happy with all the tips and advice! Thank you all if I do not get around to individually thank you.
