Didn't realize my friend was on an ebike

I've never noticed if someone was riding an ebike. Didn't even know or cared what they look like (cuz it's got nothing to do with me, I just ride my ride). I was 30 miles into a 70 mile group ride. I was feeling especially newbie as I was struggling to keep up with the 4 people riding in our little "pod". I knew two were WAY stronger than me but I didn't think I was so much weaker than the 4th. She was working hard but I felt like a little boy struggling to keep up with his mommy. I did hear this odd sound but what do I know about such things and honestly I forgot eBikes existed. I finally said "Julie, what did you eat for breakfast and can I please get the recipe, you are on fire today!" I'm not posting her, or the other two people's response. Let's just leave it at - there was LOTS of laughing and friendly abuse, but also strong support and a refusal to let me slow down since I kept up with a group that was beyond my regular skills. Nearly that entire ride was HR Zones 4 & 5. I had to take 2 days completely off the bike, then a 50% ftp endurance ride. And my skullcap wasn't removed until I was on the linoleum floor next to the washer, and that helmet was sterilized. And now I know what an eBike sounds like. And I will not attempt to keep up with them again, even if I do ride solo during a large "group" ride.

Guten Abend, ich habe mir vor wenigen Tagen ein Fahrrad gekauft und direkt mit der ersten längeren Fahrt durch eigene Dummheit und Unwissen einen Zustand herbeigeführt, der sich aktuell nicht nur nicht gut anhört, sondern das Treten auch unfassbar erschwert seither. Eine Einführung bekam ich im Geschäft leider nicht, da ich mich nicht fragen traute. Mir bereitet es etwas Scham zuzugeben, dass ich noch nie ein Fahrrad hatte und daher nicht wirklich weiß, wie eine Gangschaltung funktioniert. Dabei hat mein Fahrrad nämlich links (3 Stufen) und rechts (5 oder 7 Stufen) jeweils 2 Hebel, deren Bedeutung ich nicht kenne. Zuerst dachte ich nämlich, dass man aufhört zu treten, schaltet, und danach wieder treten kann, wie ich es so ungefähr aus der Kindheit noch in Erinnerung hatte. Bei mir hörte und fühlte sich das aber gleich ziemlich fürchterlich an. Danach ist es nach kurzer Zeit immer lauter geworden, mittlerweile schleift es so stark, dass ich in bewohnten Gebieten direkt absteige, weil ich nicht auffallen will. Ich weiß jetzt gerade nicht wirklich, wie ich das Problem beheben kann, weil ich nicht sehe, was das Schleif- und Klacker-Geräusch verursacht. Jedenfalls ist die Kette sowohl an diesem "Pedaltretteil" als auch am Hinterrad an einem der kleinsten der "Zahnräder". Schalten lässt sich mittlerweile gar nicht mehr bzw. es führt nur zu Krach und keine Veränderung der Tretintensität. Die bleibt nämlich so extrem, dass ich selbst kleine Steigungen nur unter Schmerzen irgendwie noch bewältigen kann. Darüber hinaus muss ich absteigen und schieben. Die Erklärungen dazu aus dem Internet verstand ich bisher nicht wirklich, weil mir dazu das technische Hintergrundwissen fehlt. Kann mir da Jemand erklären, was ich machen kann? Wie schalte ich richtig mit diesen 4 Hebeln?
