(Vorsicht! - langer Thread) Guten Tag! Ich würde gerne wissen ob es Sinn macht mein altes Fahrrad upzugraden oder ich mir lieber ein neues anschaffen sollte. Mein Fahhrad ist ein Mountainbike der Marke "Carver" welches schon ziemlich alt ist. Wie alt es genau ist weiß ich nicht. Mein Vater hat es in 2013 von einem Kollegen, der es davor wahrscheinlich auch schon mehrere Jahre gefahren hat, gebraucht gekauft. Als mein Vater es nicht mehr viel gefahren hat habe ich das Fahrrad dann genommen und bin bisher einfach damit gefahren ohne viel darüber nachzudenken, doch langsam zeigt sich das Alter. Ich habe es Anfang des Jahres mit in die Stadt genommen in der ich studiere und benutze es dort als mein Haupt-Transportmittel. Auch wenn das Fahrrad immer noch ziemlich zuverlässig ist hätte ich gerne etwas moderneres. ​ **Welche Upgrades sind möglich/sinnvoll?** Offenbar haben mein Rahmen und meine Gabel Befestigungen für Scheibenbremsen aber ich bin mir unsicher ob ich neue Felgen bräuchte. Meint ihr es lohnt sich Scheibenbremsen zu installieren? Könnte ich die vordere Schaltung ausbauen und nur ein Zahnrad vorne haben oder bräuchte ich dafür eine neue Kurbel? Die vordere Schaltung ist nicht zuverlässig und ich benutze sie nicht. Kann ich die Rahmenfeder austauschen (oder villeicht auch nur verstellen?) damit die hintere Federung weniger steif ist? Wäre es sinnvoll die ganze Federgabel auszutauschen? Passen breitere Reifen auf mein Fahrrad? Wenn ja: Brauche ich dafür neue Felgen? Kann ich ohne weiteres einen breiteren Lenker montieren? Ich habe den Platz und das Werkzeug um selbst an meinem Fahrrad zu arbeiten aber kein spezialisiertes Fahrradwerkzeug und vielleicht nicht die Erfahrung mit Fahrrädern aber ich würde mich als halbwegs handwerklich geschickt bezeichnen. Dinge wie Reifen begradigen oder Kugellager austauschen müsste ich wahrscheinlich in einem Fahrradladen machen lassen. ​ **Falls es doch sinnvoller ist ein neues Fahrrad zu kaufen:** Habt ihr Empfehlungen für welches Fahrrad ich mich entscheiden sollte? Ich hätte gerne ein vollgefedertes Mountainbike, auch wenn das weder notwendig noch sinnvoll ist für meine Verwendung. Ich finde Mountainbikes vom Design und vom Fahrgefühl her einfach viel cooler als andere Fahrräder.
