I am here mainly to vent about the industry as a whole. The prices, the "technology", the stigmas, and the claims, it is all bullshit. I do not understand how we as consumers keep allowing these bike companies to get away with highway robbery. All of the carbon frames are made in the same country, using the same process just different layups. All of the Shimano and Sram components are produced in mass scale and (most) drivetrain products have been in production for a long time. And all of the "technology" claims are, for the most part, bullshit marketing. Yes, wind tunnel testing, or radar sensing gadgets are real tech, but "smooth ride carbon layup" is just BS. I really just can't believe the insane margins these companies must be making on their bikes, and how people keep paying it. Regardless of the current supply chain issues, the prices of these bikes will never come back down now that they've realized what they can charge people and I just can't wrap my head around how out of touch the industry has gotten from people.

I've just got home from my latest cursed ride, the ride where everything seems to go wrong but you stick it out anyway (and hopefully still enjoy the ride) Today I couldn't find my bib shorts so wore gym shorts (important later), Started to have gear selection issues after 5 miles (so had a road side fix), The saddle started creaking so needed to be tighten mid ride, Some sort of biting/stinging insect got stuck in my shorts, Popped the rear tyre on a bad pothole, Realised my pump and CO2 was still in my workshop And finally, My wife was out for the day so I had to call my dad like a naughty teenager to get picked up. Hallo Leute, Ich fahre jeden Tag den folgenden Weg. Ich bin auf der Suche nach einem Fahrrad, mit dem ich nicht wie ein Dampfbrötchen zur Arbeit fahren muss. Das Radfahren ist das ganze Jahr über mein Hauptverkehrsmittel, also suche ich etwas, das zuverlässig mit jeder Wetterlage zurechtkommt. Ich werde es auch für Familienausflüge mit Kinderanhänger benutzen. Also sollte es damit umgehen können und STVO-kompatibel sein. Das Budget liegt bei bis zu/oder um die 3k. Alle Empfehlungen sind willkommen! Jetzt schaue ich mir einige '21er Fahrräder mit Performance Line Speed (85Nm, 45kmh) Motoren an oder ähnliches. Würde eine Empfehlung in dieser Richtung begrüßen. Das Budget ist "hoch", weil ich **kein Auto** habe, **nur** die **Fahrräder**, also brauche ich sie für einen schnellen und sicheren Transport.

• Learn to be a safe rider before anything else. Everyone wants to be "fast", but this can be a dangerous sport. Follow the rules of the road, learn to listen out for cars and look over your shoulder. If riding with a group, learn to do so safely. Wear a helmet at all times, even if you don't think you are riding far. Check your bike before heading out and make sure to bring your basic repair kit with you (tube, multi tool tire lever, etc..) • Learn to do basic repairs, at minimum to change a flat tire and add a quick link / missing link to a chain. If something is beyond your ability, have a shop due it until you have the tools both figuratively and literally to do it. • Don't obsess over speed, being" fast" as a new rider isn't always a good thing. Some learn how to ride fast before they can ride safe and it's a dangerous combination. Increase in speed will be a bi product of the effort you put in. Strive to improve on yourself and don't compare yourself to others too much. • Appreciate the bike you have and learn everything about it. Many people eventually get a second bike, you will have a good idea of things you look for in one. I know some people like to get all the bells and whistles up front. Personally, I have fun spending 2-3 years upgrading my bikes. Maybe a set of wheels one year, power meter the next, etc... • Be a helpful rider: When a cyclist is stranded with a flat, help them out if you can. Call out road obstructions and other obstacles to cyclist (you'll learn in time what is and what is not worth calling out). •enjoy riding for the sake of riding. I know I fall victim sometimes to caring about data and stats, but this is suppose to be fun for most of us. Don't let it feel like a full time job to impress others. If its for yourself, that's another story.

Hallo Liebe Radfreunde, Ich habe letztes Jahr mit Roadcycling angefangen, quasi als Alternative zum Joggen. Damals hatte ich mir für 270€ ein Triban RC 100 von Decathlon geholt, weil ich mir noch nicht sicher war, ob mir der Sport liegt. Da ich allerdings inzwischen großen Gefallen daran gefunden habe, auch schon in Bibs und Fahrradcomputer usw. investiert habe, würde ich mir gerne ein hochwertigeres Bike zulegen, jetzt wo der Sommer wieder vor der Tür steht. Auf meinen bisherigen Touren(ca 1-2std) bin ich meist aus der Stadt raus in die Natur gefahren, und habe dort dann auch ein wenig die Gegend erforscht. Ich würde sagen etwa 70-80% auf Asphalt, rest auf Schotter- und Waldwegen, wenn auch nichts all zu Wildes. Ein Gravelbike oder zumindest Gravel taugliches Roadbike würde allerdings vermutlich Sinn machen. Was mir an meinem Triban nicht so gut gefallen hatte, war [die Schaltung](https://contents.mediadecathlon.com/p1738904/k$38da85ef943dabc78f7113069871604d/sq/rennrad-triban-rc-100-grau.jpg?f=960x960), die schmalen Rennradreifen abseits von festen Straßen, sowie die schlechte Dämpfung z.B. auf Kopfsteinpflastern. Ein paar Gänge mehr wären vermutlich auch nicht verkehrt, auch wenn es hier kaum, bzw nur leichte Anstiege gibt. Evtl. Scheibenbremsen statt Felgenbremsen. Gleichzeitig habe ich auch etwas Respekt vor zu teuren/komplexen Komponenten, die ich womöglich nicht mehr selbst zuhause Warten kann, so mal ich die richtige Wartung/Pflege erst noch lernen muss. Ich habe auch schon ein wenig recherchiert, was es in der Preisklasse so gibt, wobei mir natürlich die Namen der Komponenten relativ wenig sagen. Ich habe mich versucht an reputable Hersteller von reputablen Shops zu halten, allerdings gibt es bei der aktuellen Marktlage da nicht sehr viel Auswahl. Gefallen würden mir u.A. die Einsteigermodelle des Canyon Grail/Grizl, welche auch im Juli/August wieder lieferbar sein sollen. Ich hätte auch kein Problem damit, bis dahin noch zu warten. Allerdings weiß ich natürlich nicht, ob ich im Juli/August dann auch wirklich eins davon bekommen würde. Andere Hersteller/Modelle, wie Cube Nuroad, Trek Domane, Cannondale Topstone, Giant Revolt, etc scheinen ebenfalls nicht mehr erhältlich zu sein auf absehbare Zeit. Das einzige Bike, das ich fast in jedem Shop finde, ist das Bergamond Grandurance, was mich allerdings auch etwas stutzig macht. Und natürlich noch einige andere Bikes, von denen ich persönlich noch nie etwas gehört habe (was natürlich nicht heißt, dass sie schlecht sind!)Alternativ wäre das Canyon Endurance sogar derzeit bestellbar, auf der Webseite tatsächlich auch in der Gravel Kategorie aufgelistet, scheint mir allerdings in der Standardkonfiguration mit 25mm Reifen nicht so Graveltauglich, und müsste da vermutlich auch mindestens die Reifen austauschen? TLDR: auf ein Canyon Grail/Grizl warten, in der Ungewissheit, ob man überhaupt eins bekommt. Ein Endurance jetzt bestellen, oder vielleicht doch ein anderes Modell? Ich bin Dankbar für jeden Rat!

Hey Ihr Lieben, ich studiere Medizin und arbeite in einer Forschungsgruppe. Wir forschen an chronischen Schmerzen, emotionalen Belastungen (Niedergeschlagenheit, Einsamkeit & Isolation (seit Corona ja leider ziemlich präsent...)) und einem neuen Selbsthilfeprogramm, das hoffentlich dabei helfen soll. Das Programm heißt Lenio und wurde von uns entwickelt (im Team sind wir Medizinstudierende, Psycholog:innen und auch fertig ausgebildete Psychotherapeut:innen). Wir suchen gerade noch Teilis, die mit Schmerzen nach Unfällen (egal, ob bei der Arbeit oder auch privat - z.B. beim Fahrradfahren) kämpfen. Ich würde das Programm nicht empfehlen, wenn ich nicht glauben würde, dass es einigen helfen könnte. Das Ganze ist kostenlos, anonym, seriös (UKE Hamburg) und ihr kriegt auch einen 30€ Amazon-Gutschein als Aufwandsentschädigung + natürlich Zugang zum Programm... Vielleicht für einige interessant.
