As part of our series on myths in cycling, let’s look at wheel size and how it affects speed. Even though tires have grown wider in recent years, many bike makers have stuck with 700C wheels. It’s a size that is familiar to road cyclists, and there is also a fear that smaller wheels won’t roll as fast. When we developed our Rene Herse / Compass tires, we tested all aspects of how tires perform...

That's how I would describe my experience. I used to be able to do 6kms rides, that's not much but for me it was an accomplishment. Now I can't even manage 1km. As soon as I stop I feel my head spinning and my legs start to give up on me. I feel the need to puke and my stomach is upset, i feel really drowsy and just dazzled, like I've been hit in the head with something. It's as if I have no energy left, and I can't help but sit/lay down. Sometimes I see tiny white dots and it's all very confusing. I feel like crap for a couple for hours, tho I can get back on my feet after 10 minutes or so. What might be causing this? I ride slow and steady at a pace I can sustain, I stop to drink regularly (I know, for not even 1km? But I get thirsty easily) and I try not to push too hard.

Hi all, I'm looking for recommendations for a bicycle trailer, primarily for my dog. She's a 45lb/20kg husky, and at 7 years old I'm starting to worry about her joints. Up until now, she'd run next to my bicycle, but I've noticed in recent months she's stiff or sometimes even limping a bit after a long run or walk. In order to get around town with her, I think our best option is to get a bicycle trailer. For the most part, we'll be sticking around town. I am interested in possibly going on a longer tour with her though (I'm eyeing a bicycle tour of Belgium and its breweries...), so if I'm going to shell out money, I figure I might as well by something better than just the cheapest thing I can lug behind my bicycle. I'd prefer the following: at least 20 inch wheels, reasonably lightweight, suspension (we live in a place with cobblestones and for any possible bike touring, would be more comfortable for her), and a way to open up the front/top so she can stick her cute lil face out. I'd like something that can be fully enclosed, as I think it'll be a safer way to train her as she's never used a trailer before; plus it's good weather protection. I know there are dog specific trailers, which seem reasonable, but generally don't have suspension/large enough wheels. I've thought about getting a trailer made for kids - I'm totally open to this idea, as it's likely I'll start thinking seriously about having children in the next few years with my partner and could be put to use for that as well. I'm open to doing some slight modifications as long as safety/long-term value of the trailer isn't compromised, but also I'm not very handy and I don't have many tools so it would need to be fairly basic. If you use a bicycle trailer for kids or dogs, would you recommend your trailer? Does your model offer enough modification flexibility that it would be reasonable to use with dogs (removable seats, removable handlebar, etc.)? Do most bicycle trailers for kids have a soft floor only? I'd be worried about only having fabric as the flooring, rather than something sturdier. [Dog tax](https://imgur.com/9HMSr2F), because she's the best.

Hello, i hope I am not violating any community rules since I am writing in English. ( I am still working on to improve my German skills) I moved to Germany a year ago and since things are settled i've decided to buy a bike. I've checked some guides and I believe Trekking type would be a good fit for my usage. (Planning to use it daily in Munich and also during some weekend trips to lakes close by) But I am not able to select a certain brand or model. I am not looking for a fancy brand, I just need a starter model but since there are much more brands in here than my home country, I don't know which one is good which one is bad. Also, I've seen some bicycles from Decathlon, Aldi etc... but I am not sure if they are good I should try to find something from ebay kleinanzeige. I appreciate any kind of recommendations, even a link to proper site (it can be German as well) would help a lot. Thanks
