I'm a noob cyclist, only got my first proper bike at the end of March. Did my first vaguely decent ride with a friend just over a month ago (11.5 km / 7.1 miles). Fast forward through a couple of slightly longer rides and another friend convincing me to somehow do 80 km / 50 miles with him (you can do so much more than you think!) I was feeling more fit and comfortable on a bike. So this evening I set out for a ride by myself slated to be about 50 minutes. I set PRs on every single Strava segment I did, and averaged over 20 km/h / 12.4 m/h for only the second time. Best of all, I felt relatively comfortable at the end, and kind of wanted to go again immediately... TL;DR: Felt great with improving fitness and performance, and wanted to share!

My wife found this obvious. She is smarter than I. The "dial" used in place of laces had almost entirely popped off my shoe during a ride. My favorite, discontinued, "these are basically trail sneakers" recessed-cleat MTB shoes. $10, 10 minutes & the cobbler had understood what needed to be done & fixed the problem with glue + fitting things together with a higher level of dexterity than my wife, my two riding buddies ,or I. I've ridden those dogs for a hundred miles in the blazing sun with PLENTY of 10-14% "walls" climbed - the fix holds! It rained last week - hard - the fix holds! I had never had anything to cobble before, I felt like character out of Dickens or Ulysses. A cyclist can understand the importance of supporting a Local Business, and in this case that support saved like $150. So Consider the Cobbler, celebrate bike friendly "main streets" where running errands aren't a chore. Happy riding.

So mind you I ride a single speed bike. I am literally right next to the space needle on denny way by the 7/11 about to make a left turn and a car comes up behind me what looks like they're doing about 40 miles per hour. They get to about with in 1 foot of hitting me. While I'm at about 20 mph I'd say. There are two lanes they could have just drove around me but decided to drive into the on coming traffic lane and force me into the right lane while there is no one else around and almost hit me again. They then continue to drive straight and stop at a red light which was 75 feet away perhaps. I pull up next to them and theyre both yelling at me telling me to get the fuck out of the road, etc. If something happens like this again what can I do? What are my rights when a car is driving aggressive behind me or beside me trying to cause me to wreck?
