When and if you are working on your bike, do not use your car as a storage shelf for any parts (bike computer, headlight, etc.) This especially goes for on top of the trunk. If you get interrupted, you may forget the parts are on your car and drive off with them still on. They may fall off miles down the road and be lost forever, whereupon you may have to buy new equipment. Don't ask me how I know this but please keep it in mind.

Got hit (nudged?) by a car today while in the bike lane.....

I was in the bike lane when I see a taxi pulling an illegal U-turn in the middle of the street. I can see his nose edging into the lane between the plastic (and flexible) bollard dividers, but he has more than enough room to turn around without actually intruding all the way in. I keep riding, he doesn’t stop, and he hits my foot/leg as he pulls about 2/3 into the lane. I manage to save the wobble as it didn’t hurt, and turn my head around and it looked like he was none the wiser. And on his phone. I didn’t stop before the car entered the lane, I didn’t stop to confront the driver, I didn’t grab a license plate.... just kept riding completely un-injured, but a little pissed off. How would you have handled this situation? Before, during, after... I realize I probably should have stopped before he pulled further into the lane, but I didn’t expect him to be so dumb. Lesson learned to just expect cars not to pay attention to you even if you’re where you should be.

Hi guys I have wanted to make a change for years now, not that I have not tried numerous times with many different diets but I simply failed every and each time reaching at my highest point 172 kg. Nowadays I weight 148 kg which I have maintained for the last 3 years and I was thinking for some time now to get a bicycle not only to exercise but also to cut down transportation costs (bus, tram, train etc.) which costs me around 80 monthly. My issue now is that I am not really confident in riding a bicycle due to my size as I feel that I will look ridiculous on it. People often make hurtful comments for way less and I know I should ignore them but sometimes it's just hard looking the other way, it really leaves a bad taste to my mouth. So my question to you all is should I attempt getting a bicycle and is there anyone among you that has gone through a similar situation and if so how was it? Furthermore I was also thinking on getting an electronic bicycle to assist me in the pedaling as I haven't exercised at all the last few years, even getting public transportation to visit a friend is extremely tiring and most of the time I need the following day in order to recover. Key West Ride Update

We left Miami Beach at 5am yesterday. Made key largo - a total of 61 miles in 4 hours 7 mins. Had a catastrophic flat in my brand new tubeless setup. Which required a decent amount of time to fix. Today I woke up to both of my tires flat. So I put tubes in both wheels. Set an average speed PR (for any ride) at 17.5 MPH over 59 miles with a cross/headwind. We boogied and got to Marathon in 3hr 23 min. Tomorrow we depart for the final 50 miles to the southernmost point. I highly recommend this ride to anyone who has ever thought about doing it. It will absolutely test you the first 90 or so miles, it’s boring, the roads arent that great. There’s traffic. You are rewarded with the final 80 miles of absolutely stunning scenery.

NBD with a story

Sooooo, today I finally got a new bike after looking for MONTHS for something. I have been going to my LBS frequently, checking craigslist and FB marketplace to no success. I live in a smaller city between two larger cities in Texas, so I began checking Craigslist there.I found a 2016 Felt Z5 that was within my price range and went and bought it on Monday. It is a DREAM compared to what I [had been riding](https://www.amazon.com/Women-Speed-Bicycle-Aluminum-Racing/dp/B081V89F5L/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=merax+finiss&qid=1622727067&sr=8-3) for the last few years. Fast forward to last night when I decided to take it for a quick 30 minute spin because that was all I had time for and I wanted to give it a ride. It was also my first time riding clipless, because I figured I had a new bike it was time to ride like a big boy. First of all I didn't tighten the cleats enough and my left foot was moving around on the pedal which made it really hard to get off, so I went home and tightened the cleats. I headed back out and everything was going GREAT. I pulled into my apartment complex full of confidence knowing that I had clipped and unclipped multiple times and I was feeling good. I rolled up next to my car, unclipped one foot, forgot to unclip the second foot, and then started leaning in the direction of the clipped in foot. I instinctively lifted my foot to catch me, but it was clipped in. Time slowed down as I slowly toppled to the ground bruising my elbow and my pride. A guy was walking past and helped me up and all I could say was "it's my first time riding with clipless pedals" and he just looked at me like an idiot. I guess I am part of the club of people who fell off their bikes now, and happy to be a member! The good news is I feel fine this morning, no damage to my new bike, and I HAVE A NEW BIKE! Can't wait to get out there and RIDEEEE!
